Road Runner BBQ — Restaurant in Portland

Let me start by saying that I grew up in Tulsa, OK eating bbq at least once a week. I have eaten the best that Texas has to offer from Houston to Abilene. Also Kansas City, St. Louis, Memphis, and Charlotte, NC. Also judged the Art of BBQ, an annual com0etition featuring 80 to 90 of the best smokers in the competitive world. And I smoke a pretty mean brisket myself.

I have to say that this lil food cart can hold there own with the best of them!!! And mamas hot sauce is awesome. That being said I am not a sauce person. If you have to sauce your meats then you didnt do it right. I ate there several times before trying her sauces. Now I dont eat there without some hot sauce on my plate. Everything is excellent. The brisket is great. I love it along with the pork and ribs. But not enough has been said about the yardbird. The smoked chicken is INCREDIBLE!!!! It really takes the smoke. The sides are traditional, tater salad, beans, greens, cole slaw...and since its Portland, mac & cheese...never seen a town so obsessed with mac and cheese...meh.

The service is the real kicker tho. All of them, owner, mom, son or anyone else there gives exceptional service. They are always up for a little friendly conversation. Just an overall great experience. I cannot say enough good things about the Roadrunner BBQ cart. I am at work right now eagerly awaiting my order from there.

Best smoked brisket and bbq sides in Portland. Over the years I've tried every bbq restaurant and food cart in Portland. While most do a great job with pork and chicken, brisket can be hit or miss. Roadrunner has that classic Texas smoked brisket and it's good every time we visit. It's a simple food cart with a simple menu but everything is solid, especially the sides. They're not fancy versions of what they should be. They are classic, fundamental Texas bbq sides in all their glory. Only thing missing is a sausage option and white bread (they provide a roll). The owner threatened to kill me then lied to the delivery complany I worked for. Simply for trying to speak to her. The first time we met she gave me Mac and cheese and was nice, the second time I stopped by she treated me like dirt then threatened to kill me. All I did was try to speak to this person like an adult and they resorted to violence and lies which resulted in the company gaslighting me and removing me from the app without even speaking to me about it.
