Thunderbird Bar — Restaurant in Portland

This review focuses on my infatuation with vegan poutine. I yearn for it and share my passion for it with others who are willing to listen. There are two places that I think offered the best vegan poutine. Yes, that was past tense. They were the Liquor Store on Belmont and my favorite version at the Highline Bar on Capitol Hill in Seattle, sadly both have closed. I'm not a poutine connoisseur but I know what I like. It's all about the gravy right. I like it think and not overly salted. Back to Thunderbird Bar. This place has a cool vibe, clean and with great artwork. It's also very spacious. For those using a wheelchair or crutches it has a ram. They have a pretty extensive vegan menu, though they do offer some real meat. This is bar food. I order the vegan poutine with vegan cheese and added vegan bacon. In hindsight, the bacon just added more salt to an already salty dish. If I ordered it again, I would pass on any additions. That being said, it was just okay. Compared to the thick and well seasoned versions from the HIghline and the Liquor Store. My hunt continues....

you order at the bar and then you seat yourself, they do serve you your food though . It's a bar and Grill so we got there about 4:30 and it was quiet but around 6:30 and start getting loud with a bunch of loud people playing pool and drinking. Definitely not suitable for kids, but the food was fantastic! They are mostly vegan with some meat options, but it is definitely good food. I got a normal beef burger, my dad got a vegan chicken sandwich and he says it's always good. Very disappointing came into this place Saturday night. The place was busy but the bar itself was dead and still couldn't manage to get service with three people behind the bar! My friend ordered a drink while I was in the bathroom and said it was terrible service I waited a whole 10 minutes trying to get a drink meanwhile the bartenders are at the other end chit-chatting with the few customers that were actually at the bar! Another customer came to the bar and got served while I was standing there even though I had been standing there for 10 minutes waiting they need to work on their customer service skills and...
