Vintage Cocktail Lounge — Restaurant in Portland

I never actually tried the drinks here but I have a thing about mean bar keeps and horrible service, such as this place. People like that should be in the military, not serving drinks at social venues. I simply wandered into this bar to use the restroom and they reluctantly said yes. Not long after that they were pounding on the door for me to leave. Hardly anyone was in the bar, so there wasn’t much reason to rush me out. The restroom was also a mess and the toilet stopped up too easily with no plunger. So I left it as is, as they requested. As I walked out I told them it was stopped up and one of them had a nasty comment for that. I replied with “All I did was use the toilet” and he replied with another nasty comment. I didn’t feel like taking it that night so we cussed each other out the door. I didn’t stop, just kept walking and cussing. He didn’t seem to have a problem cussing in front of the few customers they had outside either, which was also a little strange. This place seems like a venue run by people who don’t really care about people. I doubt I’ll ever go back to try any of their products no matter what they are, and I will only tell people about this experience if anything. Bars are social in nature. Sociability is their main purpose. We don’t go there because we can’t get the same drinks anywhere else. I think all bars that don’t realize this should basically be out of business. They still retain the title of my favorite place for drinks in my neighborhood. Incredible selection of whiskeys, and some fine tasting cocktails. The other night I was impressed with their food menu. Although the selection is limited, the food seems much more classier than typical bar food you would expect. The Brie Bacon sandwich with cranberry blu cheese salad and the few nibbles from my friend's pretzel mustard plate was delicious. What really makes Vintage such a great bar is the welcoming vibe my friends and I receive when you walk in the door. The bartenders rock! I came here to read and have a drink. This place was awesome. I had a really great time. The drinks were good. The pub food was great. I had the deviled eggs and Mac and cheese. I am on a worldwide quest to find the best Mac and cheese, this place has good Mac and cheese. Yum! I highly recommend this place. My only recommendation is to come during the day if you want to read small text and you have sensitive eyes. The lightning is great mood lighting - not good reading light. This is a place where you can have a conversation. I can hear myself think, and all the other patrons were friendly. This is a good place. Please don't muck it up if you come, but this place deserves...
