Trout's Cafe — Restaurant in Portola

I MUST make a correction. The waitress was NOT smoking on the floor. She smirked at us as she walked away when advised that we waited so long for our food that we had to change our orders to go. The noise level was so high the word smirk was heard as smoke. I still say the food was great and I'd love to give this place another try some day.

Great food, but the service was awful. No one greeted us, then ignored us until we asked for the table to be cleaned. Had a wonderful lunch with my daughter at trouts Cafe! The firecracker burger was delicious and the chocolate chip pancakes were awesome Miguel and Raven crushed it in the kitchen! I feel awful for forgetting our wonderful servers name but she was so attentive and kind. Can't wait to come back! Update: came back and it was still absolutely amazing. Went there for the first time today.. Drove in from Quincy just to try them out.. and I was very impressed.. I tried the crab and lobster Benedict, with home fries. The plating was beautiful.. Real crab and lobster meat. The hollandaise sauce was subtle and amazing and the spice in the home fried potatoes was perfect..

The menu is interesting, the service was great.. the vibe was great and it was a really delicious breakfast.....
