UPDATE 6/21/20 9:13 PM:

The manager/owner Sean called me shortly after posting this review and left me a message saying he saw my review and wanted to apologize for my dissatisfaction due to the beignets. He acknowledged the "beignets" on the menu are simply a derivation of the real thing, but understood where I was coming from. He even went the extra measure and took the charge off my bill. This was an impressive response. I have never had a restaurant purveyor call me about my review and apologize for any bad experience I had. That action to me reveals someone who truly cares about customer experience and is willing to go the extra mile to make things right. Because of Sean's actions, I am updating my rating of 15 Point Road from 4 stars to 5 stars. Stellar customer service and honesty like that which I experienced aren't often displayed and deserves recognition when they truly make an impact, like they did here. Kudos to Sean.

Food was good, for the most part. Crab cakes were excellent. Shrimp app came out lukewarm, but we were sitting outside and it was quite breezy, so I may attribute it to that. The wind cooled most of the food down quite quickly. For dessert, we ordered beignets. All future diners must know: these are NOT BEIGNETS. I have been to New Orleans and had authentic beignets. What this restaurant serves are doughnuts. They are donuts, with holes, rolled in regular sugar. While they tasted good, it is frustrating ordering a dish billed as one thing and receiving something completely different.

While we were happy with the overall experience, and applaud the restaurant for serving during this time, I'm never an advocate for deceptive marketing. If you are going to have something on your menu, please serve it as you name it. We likely would not have spent the $7 on these "beignets" had we known we'd be...

Went here on Sunday July 14th 2024 with my parents as part of our rhode island vacation. We found this restaurant that looked good menu wise, which had both seafood and chicken/steak. We look for that kind of food because my mom is allergic to fish, so it is important to have other food besides seafood. First off, not much parking, and can be really busy. We had a truck and kind of had to park in the back where there is more room. Secondly, we got there, and unfortunately there was a wait! So we put our name down with the host, and found 3 open chairs at the bar, and at least had a drink there. Bartender was very nice, and smiling while greeting guests and making drinks. For drinks: i got the blood orange margerita, and my dad got a sprite with titos, and my mom got a mango vodka with sprite. The blood orange margerita was very good, and the mango vodka was also good, as i tasted some of it. my dad enjoyed his titos per usual. before you know it, it was time to sit down in the dining room. we were sat at a booth and near a window overlooking the water, which was a very pretty sight. Our waitress immediately took our order, we started with the fried kimchi pork dumpling, and burrata appetizer. we needed a few more minutes with food. For entrees, i ordered the pan seared salmon with spaghetti squash, my dad ordered the pan seared scallops with spaghetti squash, and my mom ordered the fillet milgion steak. Although a little different, food was very good, and i enjoyed my salmon. Food also came out in a timely manner. i also enjoyed the fried kimchi pork dumpling as well. We paid via credit card, and left a cash tip. Would be back if we were ever in the...

Loved this place. We searched all over for a place with great reviews that wouldn't break the bank, a bit off the beaten path, and one that wasn't going to be too touristy. We found it.

We were surprised at how busy this place was on a Wednesday evening. They were packed--bar area, dining room, and deck were all filled. This caused service to be a little slow, but the service that was provided was great. We celebrated a birthday, and the waitress and a hostess brought out our chosen dessert with a candle at my request, and even sang with us. So nice to have that normalcy after the past year. It was wonderful!

We all ordered drinks and enjoyed, and they kept water glasses full! Bread with roasted garlic in oil was offered and fantastic. We had the calamari for a table appetizer (would be enough for 4 to split) and we enjoyed the aioli on it better than the red sauce (we don't think it was tomato, red pepper maybe?). All our dinners were also great. We had surf n turf, a lobster pasta dish, and sweet potato salmon. Everyone enjoyed their meal. The broccoli was superb. If I had known, I would have asked for two servings of the broccoli instead of starch option (sweet potato, fingerling potato, or rice option tonight).

We enjoyed black coffee, a chocolate torte and key lime pie slice for dessert. Those were enjoyed as well. The coffee was average as far as coffee goes, which is probably because their menu offers a variety of after dinner coffees.

This is a place we'd definitely look to come back to for a nice evening out. We weren't rushed at all and enjoyed the time to just eat a great meal and converse...

My cousin & I treated ourselves to a special Newport Restaurant Week dinner at 15 Point Restaurant last night. For $45 each, we got a delicious 3-course dinner. Our reservation was early enough that we were able to enjoy the gorgeous water views for a little while before the sun set completely. Both the food and service were superb. We each ordered a glass of wine (Relax Riesling for me). We were first served warm, crusty bread and olive oil with roasted garlic cloves. Our appetizers arrived shortly thereafter; we had both ordered the phyllo wrapped baked Brie served with crostini and a dollop of jam. So good and such a large portion that we each brought half home. Again, we each ordered the same for our entrees: a baked half lobster with seafood stuffing, served with a baked sweet potato and asparagus. Despite the amount of food it was so delectable we finished all of it. Dessert was where we differed. My cousin had the Key Lime pie; I had the Beignets, served with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. They weren't true Beignets, more like small cinnamon sugar donuts, but absolutely yummy. Needless to say, we left the restaurant totally sated. We're looking forward to returning in the summer so we can enjoy a meal on their patio overlooking the water. Highly recommended!

We live in Portsmouth seasonal and 15 Point Rd was recommended by locals. This was a HUGE disappointment! I had the Lobster bisque which was very thin and salty. I am used to a real New England/Maine bisque with cream. My husband had the swordfish which was barely a half inch thick. You cannot properly cook a piece of swordfish this thin. I had the scallops...which again, as you can see in the pictures were so small and severally over cooked. Nothing to say about the sides...the beans came plain with no flavor/seasoning. Drinks were weak with too much ice. The only decent thing we ate was the bread: Not saying much! Not worth the prices. Do not be tempted with the views. We arrived 15ins after the opened, asked for an outside table which they proceeded to try and seat us in the sunny side since we did not have reservations...the good outside seats never filled by the time we left... The service was fine but never asked why we did not finish our meals. Enough said!
