My wife and I visited this great restaurant to celebrate our 60th wedding anniversary, and we couldn't have gotten a better present. We knew we had come across a great find when we saw the number of cars parked around it which was why we waited for over 30 minutes before being seated. This was not a problem for us. Our server, Karen, was fantastic, and really helped make the evening special. And then there was the food. We decided not to have an appetizer because we were afraid we'd not have room for the entree. All of the appetizers sounded really great, but maybe next time...
I had swordfish and she had baked scallops. My sword was excellent, with a butter sauce, and cole slaw and fries as sides. These were my choices, and they didn't disappoint. Her sides were baked potato and slaw. She didn't slather the potato with sour cream because she claimed it was the best one she has eaten in quite a while, which is quite a complement from an Irish lass who has never met a potato she didn't like. Her scallops were covered with Swiss cheese and bacon. And all of this was covered by a fantastic blend of spices and bread crumbs. We were surprised by Karen our server with a complimentary dessert of cheesecake and whipped cream with an excellent sauce.
We came back to Little Rhody on a nostalgia trip and soon realized how much we miss the great seafood back home in Rochester, NY. If only someone would open a...
Read moreWent here for dinner with my parents as part of our Newport, Rhode Island Vacation on Tuesday July 16th 2024. Easy parking at this location, and a little too windy outside, but due to water surrounding us! We were greeted by a smiling host, who immediately sat us down in the dining room to eat. we sat in a table. Server immediately greeted us, and served us all some nice cold waters, and my dad had a titos with sprite. We also started with the island nachos. Before i start with what else we ordered, i sucked down all my water, and the waitress was very great at refilling it throughout our entire visit! kudos for paying attention! Anyways, for food: i had the Dish, which is a seafood entree with chopped up and littleneck clams with pasta (and peppers, but we put that on the side). My mom ordered the BBQ ribs, and my dad ordered a stuffed shrimp thing. We enjoyed both our nachos and the entree food. My mom said that the ribs were meaty and fell right off the bone! I was full from the appetizer though, and didn't finish my meal. The waitress was nice enough to wrap it up for me, and my dad also took his home too. Kudos for also putting it in a good container so that it doesn't leak. Restrooms were also clean. We paid the bill using the credit card, and left an extra cash tip because our waitress was very good! Would totally recommend here, and would come again if we are ever...
Read moreWe were greeted promptly and given three options for seating. Zach was spot-on with friendly, knowledgeable, and very efficient service. Peel & eat shrimp were an ample portion & medium-sized, cooked to perfection & tasty. Firecracker shrimp was bland & we assume the "spicy" was coming from the banana peppers. Surf & turf was very good although steak was a little undercooked, still tasty though. Buffalo Mac & cheese is also a winner & is enough for three meals. Seafood Alfredo was a perfect combo of Alfredo (not soupy & thick like some places) for the pasta, shrimp, & scallops. Margaritas will warm you up although I didn't like the (seemingly) table salt used for the rim (it was like a paste.) Overall great place. Looking forward to visiting again! 02/24 Again, the service and food were great. Steak tips were cooked well. I highly recommend the shrimp cocktail. Three massive shrimp, the largest I've ever seen. Colossal is an understatement! The seafood casserole, which isn't really a casserole, is excellent The sweet breadcrumbs they put on top of the fish, shrimp, and scallops is a...
