This was our first experience at Sunset Cove. It started off amazing with a lovely person, very polite, witty, and sweet young lady, Maddie or Mattie ( not sure of spelling) was her name, but things quickly turned sour after we placed our order. We ordered 3 hot drinks, a pastry, 3 breakfast sandwiches, and 2 breakfast potatoes. They gave us a buzzer for our order. So, we went outside to enjoy the water view. During that time, our hot drinks came out. One of the drinks was labeled, but the other two were not. We stood there for a few minutes trying to figure out what drink was what. One of the workers, maybe the owner or manager ( a middle-aged woman) saw us and must have overheard me and started shuffling our drinks around saying they were labeled. When we explained that only one was labeled, she visible showed her irritation with us and turned and walked away. It was abrupt and switched the entire experience around in the opposite direction. There was no apology, no other words, nothing. After that, the barista was rude as well. We watched as other customers were treated with respect and care by these same workers. Maybe local customers get prefered treatment as I watched ithers not be treated in the same manner? This coffee shop was recommended by many locals, and we were excited to try it and find a new local spot for our daughter. Therefore, it was such a disappointment to not have a positive experience. We spent over $70 for 3 people, and the order took 31 minutes to come out, for reference. The food: The breakfast sandwiches were very good, the coffee was a regular cup of coffee (nothing special), breakfast potatoes same as coffee, and bluette Danish quite tasty. My daughter just moved here, but we will not be returning any time soon. The view was gorgeous, but the lack of kindness ruined...

In my 10+ years of traveling around the Island Park/Portsmouth area, I had never really taken the time to check out many of the businesses that dot this beachy parcel of northern Aquidneck Island land. Yet this part of Rhode Island had a distinct flavor from it's neighboring communities.

If this has been your experience, if Island Park is merely a pretty way to drive through to get to Newport, I implore you to reconsider. And when you do, please consider starting your experience at Sunset Cove.

Depending on the day, you may find a few cars parked outside. If you're lucky enough to drive by at night and cars are there, it's probably because of a local show. I'd recommend grabbing a quiet morning coffee and sitting out on the expansive back deck to see just how much fun an outdoor show would be there.

The menu is just right! They serve coffee in all of it's traditional American styles. They have a small and large iced coffee size but only one size for their nitro cold brew. There is a variety of baked goods, and a standard breakfast menu. The menu did not mention of gluten-free options, but they do have gluten-free bread and bagels available. That was a real treat!

Sunset Cove is aptly named! There were remote workers there doing their laptop thing, but it didn't seem crowded with people. I would recommend going and trying your best to take in the gentle views and the blissful nature that is...

Super excited that this placed has changed ownership and is now run by the same talented folks at Blue Anchor Grill. The grand opening was today and I had high hopes. The food was good but the lobster roll and shrimp roll both should have had more meat in them. Coffee drinks were yummy. I had hoped that after switching ownership they would do something about the horrible parking situation for those of us who have a blue placard. The one accessible parking spot is blocked by the ramp. Very difficult to open car doors in that space. You’re not supposed to block the adjacent space to the parking spot. The ramp itself is not safe— rope “railings” may look cool but they provide no stability or support. When trying to get to the backyard outdoor seating area you have to traverse three steps down. I use a cane so it wasn’t horrible for me (though still difficult), however I saw a woman with a rollator come outside and then go back in when she realized she couldn’t get down the stairs. I hope the new owners will prioritize updating this in the...

Love it here. There’s indoor and outdoor seating (include bar stools). Very cozy in some areas indoor. The backyard has plush and well maintained lawn. Loved that this outdoor space is child-friendly. They host events here on weekends so I can imagine, the space fills up quickly. I stopped by for breakfast on a weekday and there was a line to order food and drinks, but the service was effortless and quick. Food was tasty. The one thing I will point out is the smoothies are not made of fresh fruit/veggies, I was bummed by that. They use flavored concentrates. Parking in the front is limited, but there is a sign pointing to extra parking toward the back.
