Martino's Pizzeria — Restaurant in Portsmouth

We were there this past weekend and after reading the reviews and the response from the owner (who honestly seems like a very lovely person who sincerely cares about the business) it's difficult to write a negative review. The sandwich was not good. Soggy wet steak with one slice of cheese for a steak and cheese? It was a sour taste ti the meat as well. The pizza, the crust was amazing, although it would have been nice to enjoy it if everything did not slide right off. The staff was not friendly on Sunday, seemed as if it was more we were a bother that we came in which was unfortunate since we read the nice reviews. Martino's is our favorite pizza on the Island. We've tried nearly every place nearby and it's been a challenge to find a pizza place that makes tasty NY style bubbly, chewy, and crispy crust with a slightly sweet sauce. We had a small NY style pizza with pepperoni, roasted garlic, and feta, and loved it. The crust was delicious, easily the best we've had since moving to this part of Rhode Island. We also got a large Caesar Salad and it was also perfect--just the right amount of garlic. We've been searching for a place that was this good and Martino's is the first to deliver. We will definitely be back!

When you have a picky eater (child) your food/ restauraunt choices are limited. At the recommendation of a friend I tried this pizza. My picky eater loves it so much I have been told we are ONLY allowed to get pizza from here from now on. Staff are always friendly, accommodating and prompt. Pizza is still hot when I get home (a 15 min drive). My picky child eats 4 SICES!!!!!! The large pizza’s are so big we have leftovers for 2 days (my husband gets two of them).
