Upon walking inside there doesn’t appear that anyone is working until the worker came out and asked if that was all the donuts they had. DIONNA just nodded her head. We let her know we had a Groupon to use there for $20. My brother and I both ordered a boba each and decided to take the last raspberry mochi donut. There was an additional plane donut left and my brother asked if there was anything we could add to it so that we could reach the $20 we needed to spend. She just shook her head, literally no help at ALL. I understand if you’ve had a long day at work whatever, everyone has but you are getting paid to do something still. I think the pink star she had on her face was more amusing than speaking to her because it felt like I was talking to a post. Absolutely no customer service, and couldn’t even at least tried to speak until I asked if I could have less sugar on my boba which she said she couldn’t change 🙄. Other people would have suggested what we could get, tried to accommodate for not having anything made, etc. Worst first experience honestly and it was not even late! it was around 5 when we went and they close at 8. She didn’t bother to give us a straw for the boba either which we hadn’t realized since she gave us everything in a bag. The raspberry mochi donut was chewy and pretty good not too sweet at all. The milk tea boba is extremely sweet so if you don’t like sweet drinks I wouldn’t recommend it. The brown sugar boba is surprisingly less sweet and tastes creamier than the milk tea. However It is still odd to me that this business closes at 8 and if they sell out of all the donuts, they don’t bother to make more? and rely on selling drinks? And maybe other...
Read moreWaited out the grand opening lines and stopped by on a Tuesday afternoon with my daughter who was starving after school let out. We have been to the Convoy location several times, and they currently don't serve rice dogs, so we were happy this store serves them. There was only one customer ahead of us. The donuts and rice dogs were made to order, hot, and delicious. We love mochi and these mochi donuts, and they tasted as expected, light, sponges, not too sweet. I had no complaints about the service. They are on the pricey side, but they are definitely a treat. For those who prefer large portions for the price, this isn't the place.
I am disappointed with the negative reviews for grand opening weekend as they aren't a regular donut shop, and they also offered a free item on Instagram that weekend, which would also draw big crowds and cause the business to run out of products.
The regular donut flavors are original (glazed) and churro, and the remaining flavors rotate for the weekday and weekend and are posted on Instagram.
If you've never tried mochi donuts or rice dogs, I'd recommend following them on Instagram to check for the flavors for the weekday/weekend, and trying them at least once. We will...
Read moreThe place is pretty small on the inside, their selection of food looks good, but I didn’t have a great experience with it unfortunately. I waited in line about 45 minutes near closing time, the mochi nuts are delicious, but that’s all we had the opportunity to try as the rice dogs were limited 1 per person and the wait for them was half an hour. They told me I wasn’t able to order for the group of people I had in the car, which seems counterproductive considering how many people could fit inside the shop and the lack of social distancing there is here during a pandemic and they do not offer mobile ordering. They were out of brown sugar and out of Boba so I wasn’t able to try their boba drink that I was interested it. Recently they announced they ran out of ingredients due to the popularity but it seems that they should have been better prepared seeing how popular they were growing on social media before their opening. In the end I waited 45 minutes for 6 donuts only. Even then they’re pretty pricey, but the donuts are good. I’ll buy again from the location on convoy as they have...
