I have passed by this place many times over the past several years and have wanted to try it, based on the cool retro sign alone! I am not a breakfast person, so when I finally had a chance to try the lunch buffet, I took it.
What I expected: A tiny, crowded place with average food.
Upon entering, I was surprised that the restaurant was much larger than I assumed. The employees and locals were all very friendly. While some of the food was average for a buffet, the majority of it that I tried was well above average. The standouts for me were the delicious fried chicken, rolls, and chicken pot pie. Read moreMy husband & I ate there today about noon. We had the buffet. The Fried Chicken was totally over fried. The lady that waited on us wasn’t friendly at all. Never checked on us. Had to go ask for a water refill. I believe they’ve changed ownership. I told my husband not to tip because the lady never checked on us or got my water refilled. He left her a $1.00. The employees are very friendly and the entire place gives off a home town feel. My only issues were the following: The mashed potatoes appeared/tasted like box potatoes, the buffet options did not provide a lot of variation in sides and some of the food offered such as the spaghetti was unusually greasy.
