First visit, drove 10 miles on recommendation of someone, looked forward to really good Thai. Sorry to say, I was unimpressed! Really hate to hurt small businesses, but there's zero spice or flavor in the food. It is fresh though, so points for freshness! They serve rice and a small salad with meals, that's a plus. However, they brought really "full" beautiful looking salads on plates to the large group next to me and brought me a very sparsely filled small bowl, when I asked if the salad that group got was different, she said no, it's the same, yours is in a bowl, their's was on a plate. I don't think that made the difference! I requested both dishes to be spice level 5, even repeated it 3-4x to be sure server understood, level 5 is too hot for most people, but I love spicy hot food, esp Thai. The veggies are barely cooked, check the photo of the raw zucchini in my dish. Garlic dish had no garlic or even a hint of garlic. Pad Thai is extremely liquidy (look at the amount of sauce in the box) and other than extremely sweet, no heat, flavor, or bean sprouts. Nice people, but they need to cook good Thai with the right spices. When I requested spices, I didn't receive the usual Thai spices, I got Chinese instead, a bottle of soy (not spicey), and a bottle of red chili sauce, nothing else. Small place, very tight squeeze inside and not very clean. Small parking area, ok for Sunday, but might be a problem when other businesses across street are open on weekdays. If you want to try it, I'd say go for it, but as for me, I won't drive out of...
Read moreIt was my husband and my first time trying out this restaurant. It had 4.5 stars and based on reading the reviews, we had high hopes for 'the best Thai food in prescott valley'. We ordered 3 items to share and the bill came out to about $40.
When we opened up our take out boxes, boy were we disappointed. The beef salad was warm. It was poorly seasoned cooked strips of beef tossed around with cabbage and dumped into the take out box. There was no thought on execution or presentation when this food was prepared. The pad see ew was mediocre at best and most disappointing of all was the tamarind duck. The menu states a 'half duck' and we received half a duck breast. It was dry, poorly seasoned and again, thoughtlessly thrown on a pile of vegetables that neither complimented the dish or the presentation. What's more disappointing is this half a duck breast cost me $14.
Would I go back again? Definitely not. I understand that with a smaller town, you may not have the choices you would get in a bigger city, but food is food and when a restaurant understands...
Read moreI'm a huge fan of Chicken Curry, yellows, my favorite, and Toi's Thai in Prescott Valley Arizona makes the best yellow chicken Curry I've tasted in my the quad cities area. I've only recently started eating Chicken Currys when I tried it for the first time a little over two years ago, and I was instantly hooked. I've tried it at around ten different places, and Toi's is the best one yet. They also have other great food so everyone can get something made with fresh and delicious ingredients. You'll enjoy whatever you get there, I guarantee. Also the staff are incredibly friendly and courteous. I just wanted to update my original review, but I wish I could write a whole 2nd and 3rd review. If we could continue to write multiple reviews every year or every other time, we would at a place. Toi's Thai is still the best Thai food, with the very best waitstaff to boot. If you haven't made it in here...
