This is probably the only place in Northern Arizona (including Flagstaff) where one can sit down, eat bagels and pastry and drink coffee all day long and get work done/ study. That is appreciated. As is the coffee refill opportunity - big time.
What is not appreciated (on my end, at least) is that when there are certain same people working, they will almost exclusively play punk rock and English rock bands from 70ies and 80ies and very often way too loud for a coffee shop, especially after 5PM. I've heard the entire Sex Pistols and The Cure repertoire there at this point several times over. That happens starting afternoon shift and I know what music will be on when I see who works the shift there. If you don't dig the music or are studying, it might be a significant distraction. After 2 years I've learned somewhat to tune it out. If there was another place that would play more neutral music, I'd go there.
However, I will not complain because this is literally the only place and well worth to come up to from Sedona. While Sedona & Cottonwood have 1 decent hipster coffeeshop work place each (not counting Starbucks with internet always down and the homeless hanging there), the one in Sedona closes at 4 and the one in Cottonwood closes at 3. Hence, I also appreciate the 8PM closing, which also tops anything in Flagstaff; plus the pastry and bagels are delicious and the morning shift in particular is...

I go here whenever I'm coming back and forth from Chino. It's definitely the best coffee going along the area if you're on the road and just want the drive thru service. The inside is great too with some nice wifi access and indoor/outdoor seating.
Now before I say this, understand this. I get it from a company consumer perspective. But as a casual consumer it's gross.
There are almost no men working at this shop. And this isn't necessarily a bad thing If the women weren't more on the high brow side than they were to be pleasant to everyone. But they aren't. It's almost as if the owner, who is an older guy mind you. purposely chose Good Looking Women more than talented individuals to benefit the shops experience. There is one young lady who is always kind when I'm inside, and almost always a kind young man at the drive thru side. Everyone else is very pushy, and or inexperienced where they don't initiate more effort to at least make me and my friends comfortable enough when we get served.
It's a fantastic shop, and the second best Traditional Shop in the area. So I don't not recommend coming here at all, especially if you're north like me...
Read moreReally hit or miss with this place. Today unfortunately was the latter. I (and a few other customers behind me) walked in to a nearly empty place, and the dude at the register managed to continue talking to his coworker for another 30 sec. I just got done running almost 14 miles, was wanting to just get my drink and croissant and go home to shower. When he got to me, I was visibly annoyed but he didn't seem to get it. Without a smile he would ask me how my day was going and if I had big plans today (Sunday morning). I wasn't in the mood for chit-chat but sounded innocent enough so I told him about my run which he basically tuned out. On top of all this, he assumed everything incorrectly about my drink and croissant. I didn't ask you to warm it up or add whip cream. Anyways, hopefully better service next time. Is a smile and a "how are you?" too...
