We came in on Sunday evening an hour before they closed and we were told they were closing early we were definitely fine with that, we ordered our food to go after we and asked if that was fine. Took a few minutes to look over the menu and we ordered we ordered a couple of things and then we both said we wanted an order of the cantonese lo mein, saw her write it on the ticket. We got our food and went home we opened the bag and everything was there but our lo mein. It was 10 minutes before their early closing time she gave, we immediately called and drove back and noone answered. By the time we got there the doors were locked we saw them in there still and tried to knock and call after a few minutes we just left and thought well call later. They were closed the next day as usual they are closed Mondays. We called back today and the lady that took our order argued with me on the phone said she remembered us but that we didn't order that. She never gave us our receipt and just told us that she's not going to make it right because we didn't order that. I told her a few times that yes we did order that dish i saw her write it on the ticket. She said no it took you forever to decide and then you didnt order that I thougt that was extremely rude especially since we asked if we could order to go and took just 3 to 5 mins to decide. She then told us sorry goodbye and hung up. Really disappointing especially since we have came here since we were kids and always love gees I still love the food but makes me not respect the service as much I did before have always supported this business idk if I'll feel comfortable going there...
Read moreFriendly staff. I ordered Kung pao chicken. It came with choice of soup. I had the hot and sour. It was hot due to the red pepper flakes, but lacked any other flavor beside sour. The plate came with breaded deep fried pork, and breaded deep fried shrimp. Pretty sure they came right out of a bag in the freezer and were then warmed up, emphasis on warm. On the menu it had said pork. Otherwise I would not have been able to identify the tiny dark brown piece of dried out (meat?) product in the middle of the lumps of dough. The shrimp was almost as good. I didn’t recognize the Kung pao chicken until I realized it was the only other thing on my plate that it could be. I had thought it was just a side of diced up vegetables, but then recognized the small cubes of light brown product, the same size as the diced vegetables, which had a slight chicken flavor. The “fried rice” was dry and had possibly been fried, but not recently. It was garnished(?) with a few pieces of dried out meat product that I think was supposed to be barbecued pork, or Char Siu. Char Siu is one of my favorites, but this stuff pales in comparison to the vacuum packed Char Siu from Ray’s Food Place grocery store further down 3rd. That Char Siu is in the refrigerated section above the packaged shrimp, and right next to the oysters. This Char Siu from Ray’s is almost as cold as the stuff that was on the fried rice. I decided not to say anything about how my meal was, to the person at the reception table I assumed to be the owner, and just opted for a personable “good night” instead. This was answered by a grunt. A...
Read moreFor anybody that has been to any Asian country. You will know that there’s a difference between authentic Asian and American Asian foods. If you prefer to have American Chinese food, then this place is right up your alley.
The restaurant is very clean and has a decent amount of tables, but not so many that it seems crowded. The menu has quite the variety of different foods, but they are all the same that you would typically find at most Chinese restaurants.
The staff was very friendly, I’ll be at, maybe not as attentive as I might have liked, but they did pay attention to drink refills, and when the check was needed.
The hot and sour soup is delicious, and the main course was a lot more than I might have expected, so I definitely think I got my moneys worth. The food tasted great, there was a lot of flavor, a lot of variety of different ingredients, such as the zucchini, onion, chicken, rice, etc. However, I think that my sweet-and-sour chicken could’ve used a little bit more sauce.
All in all this is a fairly nice American Chinese restaurant that gives you plenty for your money so that you can take home in a box if you’re not...
