I go to Lovera every year with friends for our birthdays and never had an issue until this year. This club is getting money hungry and does not care for the people going in. It was an event with big Lex from baddies and the club was not packed at all, but wanted people to pay $40 at the door after 11pm. We were in line at 10:30pm, but they didn't start letting people in till 10:50pm, so that anyone without a ticket had to pay $40 at the door passed 11pm. The club closes at 2am and their special guests, big Lex, Sleepy Hallow, and Sheff G came out at 1:30am, which means we basically only paid to see them for 30 mins. The DJs suck, heard the same songs 3 times all night because they don't know how to be different. We also texted a promoter to get a section a week prior to the event, and I have been traveling the world and have NEVER waited in the same line as general admission when I pay for a section at the club. Hookah used to be $40 and $20 refills, but now $55 and $35 refills. All the securities did not speak English and only spoke Spanish, which should be a topic of discussion because what if something happened to someone who doesn't speak spanish? They would be in danger. The people working there, hostess and promoters, seemed like they didn't know what was going on. They have people who bought sections on a notes list on their iPhone instead of a chart or sheet of paper where ALL the employees can see. The hostess literally said "I don't see the list". This establishment is unprofessional and only wants money now. It is sad to see a club I used to love going to turn into shit because they think they are running the same crowd as Las Vegas. I went to Las Vegas for 10 days and never paid to get in a club, saw a lot of famous DJs, Zedd, and rappers, Lil Wayne and T-Pain, for cheaper. If you are going to advertise free entry before 11pm, at least start letting people in at 10:30pm, when your club is suppose to open and not 10 mins...
Read moreYesterday I went here with my cousins to celebrate one of here friends birthdays. We heard about the history of this place but we were stupid enough to give it a try. As soon as we got there cops were there to provide security (red flag) we chose to ignore it and wait in line. Security let all the females in first while males had to wait an extra 20 minutes in a separate line to get in, not surprised. They had a metal detector scanner then an additional body guard to search me all over my body and the whole time I’m thinking “am I going to a club or through airport security?” It was ridiculous. Once I made it inside they upped the price for $40 for males instead of being $20, mind you it’s still 11:30PM and never before have I been to an RI club for it to be this expensive at this time. I asked “why?” and the lady told me “that’s just the price for right now” instead of ruining the girls birthday by causing a scene I sucked it up and moved on. We got a table tried to enjoy the rest of my night until sometime later an employee came up and said “you guys need to buy a bottle before you can have a table” when we ALREADY had our drinks and hookah there on that table. No one else had bottles on there tables either, it made no sense for us to get signaled out when the tables not reserved anyway. So we literally had to leave the table and put all of stuff on the bar in a extremely crowded environment. The music was awful with the DJ shouting out someone every 10 seconds and it was a very unfriendly place to be in. Even the bartender gave me and attitude when I asked politely for a drink by rolling her eyes at me, like what? I’m beyond angry at this point and I left. NEVER will I ever go here again or any event they host. Overpriced, Safety endangerment, scamming, and horrible customer service. I’ll make sure to let everyone know. You got my $40, but you’re definitely not gonna get anybody else...
Read moreMy night was ruined as soon as I found out I had to pay tickets when all I was told by the owner was if I wanted a table I had to pay $50 and buy a bottle so I’m thinking okay cool a bottle will be like $150 because that’s an acceptable price, cool I get there and get told I had to pay for tickets because there was someone performing which I had no idea, so they get the owner he tells me yeah you have to buy tickets , so I’m telling him he never told me that, his response was well yeah you gotta get tickets or I can give you back the $50. So me and my group paid the tickets $80 each. We get to our table so ofc we’re trying to get our bottle why did we get charged $300 for a bottle of patron? I asked why is it so expensive if that’s not nowhere near the price it should be. On top of that how is there no seats at a table? Idk this whole experience was terrible. Save your money and time I wish I would’ve left i was more mad the whole night and did not enjoy my...
