I wanted to enjoy this restaurant so bad after reading the story of how it started and checking out the reviews but I was extremely disappointed by the take out "crispy" sesame chicken I ordered during my lunch break from work nearby. It's a small portion, highly broccoli dominant ( I had no idea there was broccoli in the 13.95 appetizer as there's neither picture nor description on the site), and wasn't crispy or flavorful. My chicken was very soggy and I picked it up about 12 minutes after I ordered. That was unexpected as the menuify website (which I paid an extra 1.50 for using to order takeout) claimed my meal would be ready 30-45 minutes later. Delighted at the speed, I was shocked when I found my chicken was completely wet. Tasted kind of sour and bland as well. If I had picked it up later, it could have been even worse as it was sitting on the counter when I walked in.
Nice people. Good crab rangoon (I'd rate it 3/5 taste) at $6 for 6 Rangoon, but bad sesame chicken. I wouldn't order it again and I wouldn't order from this restaurant again. Highly...
Read moreI’ve ordered for Thai Star a few times and the food has always been very good. However, last night we placed an order on Grubhub and it said they were open, it didn’t even say closing soon. First our order was delayed, which is understandable on a Saturday night. But then we got a call from an unknown party yelling that another driver was coming. Later we got an alert it was delivered, but it never was. We checked everywhere (even our neighbors) and it was nowhere. The restaurant was closed at this point too so we couldn’t even verify if it was the driver who messed up or if they just ended up not making our food and tried passing it off as delivered. Either way we ended up with no food at a later hour which limited what we could even get at that point. I know mistakes happen but the communication here could use a lot of...
Read moreI stopped in for takeout Tom Yum soup and steamed dumplings an evening last week and met Tommie. Pleasant man, hospitable, answered my questions about Thai Royalty since the restaurant is adorned with these portraits. I returned for Lunch with my son and Dr. Paul. Mani our waitress was very welcoming explaining the various dishes. We had tasty house wings for an appetizer. Tom Yum made it to the table and looked delicious. My son had Hawaiian Chicke, a smokey tender lightly breaded chicken dish with peppers, onions, pineapple served with white rice. I went with Gao Lao soup, beef broth with celery, sprouts, pork and a little spicy. 😋 We had a great time conversing with our waitress about Thailand and traveling. Great food that is very aeromatic and beneficial especially in this season. Will return...
