3.75/5. Unfortunately I can't give partial stars otherwise I would. The owner is absolutely fantastic to deal with as well as all of his staff. The pizza is alright for Chicago and could be better with a more fresh tasting and crispy crust as well as about 15% more cheese on the pizza in total. Otherwise not a bad spot for a bite to eat or even a family pizza night. I've been coming here for over 15 years and it's been the same reliable pizza the entire time. Consistency is above and beyond so you know you're going to get the same thing every time. The only complaint about the place is that their giant mozzarella sticks don't really look, act, or taste like regular mozza sticks. Personally, I find them to be way way way too much cheese to bread ratio ( think of a stick of butter size coated in brad crumbs) and as well as the iconic greasey cheesy taste of a classic fried mozzarella stick just isn't there. For this to be 5/5, I would change the crust to be a more rich, fresh, cruncher style crust, add just a bit more cheese, and dump the brat size mozzarella sticks and go to a more traditional style. Below average pizza, but bizarre management. Picked up the pizza smoothly enough. Got home, the pizza was under cooked. We called them up, and they said they would send a new one. We were already home so they delivered it. 20-30 minutes later we got the pizza and tipped the driver. Pizza was done, though I think it lacked flavor. Owner later called us, angrily demanding the under cooked pizza back! It was really odd. We finally said sure, and he sent his delivery guy out to fetch it. We fished the under cooked pizza (still in the original box) from the trash can, and set it outside on a chair. Guy stopped and picked it up. Bad and weird experience as a whole. Would be 3 stars, but the phone call was just weird and upsetting. Not worth ordering again...
