After a long day, I needed something satisfying, something that hit just right. Beach Avenue BBQ was exactly that. A local spot buzzing with energy, full of people enjoying the festivities. The place was packed with laughter, and you could see the kitchen working non-stop, smoke and spices filling the air with the unmistakable aroma of slow-cooked barbecue.
I ordered the Pulled Chicken Sandwich with a side of mac and cheese, and let me tell you—it was a home run. The pulled chicken was incredibly juicy and tender, packed with rich, smoky flavor. It was slathered in a sauce that added the perfect balance of sweetness, tang, and a little heat, I think it was called Louisiana BBQ sauce, but honestly, the name didn’t even matter because the flavor made me forget about everything else. The toasted bun held up well, soaking in just the right amount of sauce without falling apart, adding a slight crunch to contrast the softness of the meat.
And then there was the mac and cheese, a dish so rich and creamy, it could stand on its own. The cheese sauce was velvety, thick, and full of deep, savory flavor, clinging to every piece of pasta. It wasn’t just cheese thrown on noodles; this was slow-cooked, properly seasoned, and ridiculously comforting. Each bite was pure bliss, making it hard to put the fork down.
Beach Avenue BBQ knows how to do real, flavorful barbecue, and they do it well. If you're craving tender, smoky meats and indulgent sides, this spot is...
Read moreThe day before Thanksgiving I spent about $80 on some food for my family, the cashier had informed me that they accidentally gave my order to another customer and that they’d wait to see if the customer comes back with it and if not they’d remake it. I told them politely I’d rather they just remake the order anyway..I mean come on, chances are the other customers had to open the food to realize it was the wrong order! The other customer did end up coming back while I was waiting for mine to be remade and the cashier told the customer to keep the food they accidentally gave them (rightfully so) and gave them their full order. I felt slighted that that customer was given additional food while I was not offered so much as a coupon or even additional sides, or something to make up for it. The ribs ended up being extremely dry and their meat platter was tiny, I almost think they may have given me the wrong one it was so small. The nachos were good though. It’s hard to get nachos right in a to-go order. I suggest trying Q in La Grange for awesome food and crazy...
Read moreI ordered a day ahead. I asked what time would be good for pickup? They told me after 1:30pm. Order wasn't ready. Only had one sauce available. I understand things run out. I don't understand the attitude when I asked for spicy sauce. No apologies given. Just disappointed when you go head any order early and they can't complete the order fully!!
Response to Owner:
I placed an order for 1:30 pm the day before. I asked him (manager) when would be a good time? He suggested 1:30 pm after your brunch rush. Your manager took my order the day before. While I was waiting 10 minutes plus for my order I never was told about the outages. This is why I ordered the day before so my order would be complete. I asked for sauce for the wings. I was told what sauce is there is what we have. No apologies. Just giving a heads up to potential customers. (You can see my history of reviews and see I rarely give bad reviews. Only when I actually experience bad service like today.) Wings were good! Would have given 4stars if the sauces where...
