Cordial Inn Bar and Video Slot Machines — Restaurant in Proviso Township

BEWARE! Michelle the 'bartender' should not work here or serve the public. I can no longer support a business that allows their staff to mistreat their customers and make false claims against them. The service here has gone downhill during two changes of ownership.

My friends and I have stayed away from here due to rude staff, riff raff, fights, etc. in the last several years. We decided to give them a try a week ago as we were assured by another patron that it was under new ownership. The new owners supposedly cleaned house and removed all the previous troublesome staff. Everything seemed to have improved from our visit here a week ago, but that's because Michelle was not there. We had zero issues with the staff that day, we were served without issue, and overall we thought the renovations were an improvement. The prices have gone up but they have added premium beverages to their selection.

Unfortunately, Michelle was not included in the staff overhaul, and mistreated my friend during a recent visit.

It is a real shame that The Cordial Inn continues to have problem bartenders, because this place used to be a gem. It's now a far cry from cordial. The interior renovations are not worth it for any of us to tolerate disrespectful behavior from bar staff. I am beyond offended that the new owners allow the bar staff to treat customers badly. There are plenty of other choices in the area, and my choice is to spend my money where the staff appreciate my money...

This place SUCKS! I am literally sitting here right now at the bar and couldn’t wait to write a review! DO NOT GIVE THIS PLACE YOUR MONEY!!!! Customer service is so below par we werent even greeted or acknowledged when we got here. You must only get service immediately if you’re a REGULAR! Would never come back don’t waste your time! The only good thing was the kid that made our burgers was very kind and the burgers were great and he was the only person that asked us how everything was!!! I am assuming this is the owner behind the bar and he reaks OF BEER!!! Have another dude!!! Terrible customer service, terrible bartender, terrible experience! I have been in the industry since 1999 and haven’t had an experience like this one!!! And they have a sign that is so small behind the bar that says 20% gratuity added to all checks … no wonder they give no shits about service!!! They automatically get a tip! The burger it is good. It is the definition of “I need to eat something while I’m out”. It hits the spot but isn’t going to overwhelm you. The food menu is limited, but again, it’s food for while you are hanging out, you’re not going to take pictures of your plate and post it to your instant gram.

The service for my visit was wonderful. The three women behind the bar all helped to make sure I had what I wanted. They seemed to be able to read the customers very well. Great conversations when there was time.

The atmosphere is a tough call because one persons boring is another persons party. The crowd seemed to be a lot of regulars and everyone stayed to their group for the most part. If the atmosphere is come in and chill, then it’s great.

I didn’t witness or experience any of the other negatives that others have written about.

I’ll definitely make a return trip because the staff and the prices...
