Brookfield Breakfast — Restaurant in Proviso Township

We visited Brookfield Breakfast over the weekend and found it to be a friendly local spot with a simple, comfortable atmosphere. Service was excellent, the staff was attentive, and the food arrived quickly. I ordered the chilaquiles, which had a unique twist with chorizo in the salsa. It was a solid B for me, but the real standout was the hash browns. Two of my daughters ordered them, and they were the showstopper, perfectly balanced between crispy and soft. I could have easily enjoyed a plate of those on their own.

My daughters had mixed reviews of their meals. The waffle combo and crepe combo were rated an A, while the croissant breakfast sandwich landed at a C. Prices felt slightly high for what you get, but that is common these days. The coffee selection was more limited than expected, although bathrooms were clean, parking was plentiful, and the location is convenient. Walking in is very welcoming. It wasn't too busy at 9am for a Monday. A bit small little cozy area. Waitress was very nice and sweet. She attended us well and was checking up on us often. Menu is pretty big for a small breakfast joint. Have a variety of sandwiches, skillets, pancakes and crepes usual diner/breakfast food. I grabbed the Brookfield burger. Order it well done, burger was still juicy for being well done. Their burgers are made by hand also. They have patty melts and that's what I'll be trying next time I go. So sad to leave a bad review but I'm not happy I chose to eat at Brookfield breakfast for my Mother's Day. When we sat with my husband and kids we told the waitress that my mother was on her way. Even though she was slow to even wait on us she rudely told us that there is a ten minute wait time on the table or else we had to go. I was shocked! My mom was only five minutes away but there was plenty of open tables, it's not like they were on a wait or needed the table. :( I like their food but this ruined it for me.
