The place looks a bit like it needs touching up. Some parts look more organized than others. The teenager dude definitely seems like he doesn't really enjoy being there or working there and I feel like the overall experience can be summarized by how lackluster the overall atmosphere was during the purchase of these two scoops of what was supposed to be non-dairy ice cream. I prefer non-dairy ice cream so I checked it out to see what options they had. Unfortunately they didn't have that Triple Threat Chocolate non-dairy flavor which I really would've gotten if they had any available. so I went for the only other option left which was cookie dough. I was definitely caught off guard by the taste because it almost confused me for a second. It tasted more like a vanilla cupcake which wasn't a bad thing but definitely wasn't something I expected. The problem about this is that the taste pallate can expect what this would taste like on a typical normal basis which cookie dough is vanilla ice cream with cookie dough bits but somehow it had a interesting taste that I've never tasted before. The one thing I can take away from what this experience was is that it definitely brought it down for me only because my pallete was expecting something more closer to regular flavored ice cream. I payed 7 dollars for two scoops and got two sugar cones to pair with the ice cream. After eating more of this "ice cream" I was left mostly dissapointed. The weird aftertaste was growing stronger and honestly whatever this ice cream was stored to cause this odd aftertaste and overall base taste that didn't seem right at all...it only made me feel physically uncomfortable and made my stomach hurt a bit eating it and I ended up tossing it as a result. I just don't recommend this place honestly as far as taste goes. I was not impressed with this overall experience...the worst part was that even the sugar cones...
Read moreI love zoo city treats. It's a bit hectic in the summertime, but now it's perfect. I was waiting for my husband to get off the train, it was so cold out, and I had my 5 year old with me. I went in and asked if they had warm things. The lady was super nice, and told me they have hot chocolate, soup, and coffee (regular and flavored). I ordered the hot chocolate with whipped cream, and she even had me test the temperature to make sure it wasn't too hot for my daughter. She even suggested coffee for my husband. She then noticed I had my dogs and asked if they wanted water (they were outside). She also turned on the TV for my daughter and let her wait inside where it was warm. I waited outside with my dogs. Though I wouldnt give the hot chocolate 5 stars, the customer service and offerings were excellent. I will definitely be back. Thank you, Zoo...
Read moreBefore the buyout Zoo city treats used to be a marvelous local icecream treat shop featuring cheap icecream, great service and a wide variety of treats But I have too say this transformation into Daisys treats has ruined everything; even with the rising prices there is no feasible reason a single scoop ice in a bowl should cost 5.50, now onto the service it is horrendous with Employees unable to fulfill orders, not giving napkin with a messy icecream, rude and impolite when I take a second to grab change and cleaning my table while I’m still sitting at it, and onto the treats it went from a huge treat shop full of cookies, brownies, cupcakes, chocolate covered marshmallows to a couple of chocolate covered bananas; this buyout is disappointing and I will be buying ice cream at restaurants like Bills place and machinto icecream where they can show...
