Mi Jerez Taqueria — Restaurant in Proviso Township

I figured I would start my day off by going to a taco place I've never been to before, especially to support local businesses in this economy. The moment I walked in, one guy literally yelled "oh my God!" And the whole restaurant grew quiet as they stared at me intensely. I tried ignoring it at first, but everyone continued to just...stare. Thankfully, the lady behind the counter was decently nice and took my order. At the same time, the other people in the restaurant, whom I assume work there or are in some way associated with her, continued to give me dirty stares, as if I was a skunk who had the audacity to walk into their esteemed establishment.

Regardless, I continued to be respectful even though I felt they were profiling me. When I got my food (which was already 1.5x more expensive than the listed menus), I thank them, but I noticed everyone continued to glare at me while I walked out, and they did so silently. I'm not sure what I did, but I just walked into the restaurant during regular business hours and paid for their food.

If you're looking for good service, there's much better Mexican places nearby. Los Comales in Melrose Park has the best service I've ever had, and Super Taco Express just down the street also treats you well. Taco Patio in Bellwood also has much better service. I tried to order food from here an hour before they closed… when I called someone picked up the phone, took my order and said it would be ready in 10 min. I showed up there in 10 min and the store was completely closed… why even take my order over the phone if you were closing and have me waste my time and gas?? very unprofessional and they seem like they don’t care about making money or giving...

9/2021-Had The Lomo torta thinking it was going to be Lomo de Res, but was not. Fail on my part not the restaurant for me not asking or reading the menu right.
