Moon Temple Chinese Restaurant — Restaurant in Proviso Township

I originally ordered here on doordash I got my food super fast like in 17 minutes it was at my door. Which kinda rubbed me the wrong way like how the heck did they cook my order that fast. I had opened the bag and took the egg roll out took a bite and omg not only was it dark it was really dirty tasting. Wouldn’t be surprised if they never change their fryer oil which is absolutely disgusting. It was dripping dirty oil and the smell of dirty oil matched the taste. Disgusting. The fried rice was the same way very dirty smelling and the taste was awful. I didn’t even let my family eat that garbage I threw it out. I can’t believe the cook would serve that. Regardless I tried to get my money back but I knew that was gonna be a fight between doordash and the lady on the phone. I explained that my food was bad and she was fighting with me instead of admitting that her food was not good, and thinking of ways to make it right. DoorDashers beware before ordering here hopefully you see this review and change your mind on this complete embarrassment. Disgusting food smelled bad and tasted so dirty made me so mad I just threw it out. Dirtiest oil ever, I wouldn’t even want to see that fryer in their kitchen. Please people don’t waste your money here and go to another place. I promise you will be disappointed...

🗑️🗑️…I will never give moon temple another dime…I ordered vegetable fried rice spicy..they didn’t make it spicy…ignored it…Ordered again another day…and this time I reminded them to make it spicy…Once again it wasn’t spicy..ignored it again…The next time I ordered..I made sure to put in the notes “PLEASE MAKE SPICY..LAST TWO TIMES I ORDERED IT WASNT SPICY “…& when I got it ?..IT WAS RIDICULOUSLY SPICY!!…almost like they were upset that I TOLD THEM THEY DIDNT DO IT CORRECTLY THE LAST TWO TIMES SO THEY DECIDED TO DUMP AN ENTIRE BOTTLE CHILI POWDER IN MY ORDER AS A JOKE!..I JUST THREW IT OUT & decided never to go back..not to mention the last time I was there I seen the cook outside in the back picking his nose🤮…stay away from moon temple!!…and they charge you for those little packets of soy sauce and sweet and sour sauce while other Chinese Food restaurants give them...

We ordered the dinner special last night. This includes an entree, fried rice and an egg roll. I got the shrimp kow, and my husband got mushroom egg foo young. The shrimp kow contained a generous amount of large shrimp and an assortment of veggies in a white sauce, which was highly seasoned. Bok choy, mushrooms,broccoli, peapods, water chestnuts,celery and adorably thinly sliced carrots. I loved it! My husband must have enjoyed the egg foo young...it's all gone! The dinner came in a black takeout container that was divided into two sections.Very nice. The shrimp egg rolls were huge and rolled very fancy!
