Stacy's Cafe — Restaurant in Proviso Township

I have driven Mannheim numerous times, always wanting to try it. This is a small neighborhood place; the bar and 6 slot machines take up half the restaurant. We were seated at a booth along the windows. My friend noted that the booth seats are not anchored down, and every time the people behind us got up or sat down, it was felt by my friend, I'm sure the opposite was true as well. Our table was in the bar area, and it was LOUD. It was Friday night, and many patrons were out for a drink with friends. The room in the back would be much quieter. There are two ways to approach this restaurant: their burgers are very reasonably priced, starting at $11.50, going up to $14.00. Othe sandwiches start at $15.00 and go up to $17.00. There also is a Butt steak sandwich for $23 and a Prime Filet Steak Sandwich at $25. The other side is the steak or seafood place; dinners start at $24, going up to $65 for the surf & turf or $66 for the twin lobster tails. I had the Butt steak & fresh catch of the day at $39. Today's catch was Sea Bass (different from Chilean Sea Bass). The preparation on the sea bass was excellent! Tender and succulent. The Butt streak was also excellent. It was served with a choice of potato and steamed broccoli, cauliflower, and carrots. My friend had the Stacy burger with cheese was very satisfied. Another friend went for the queen's cut prime rib. He said it was pretty standard as prime rib goes. He did order the garlic mashed potatoes and found them not to his liking. In fact, no one at the table liked them... and I love garlic. This place is a rip off with flavorless over-cooked food a terrible customer service! My husband and I went in there on 8/8/22 we were there from 4pm - 7pm. We ordered 3 mixed drinks in total for each of us. They charged us $9 per drink. I was drinking vodka w/ Soda and my husband drank Seagram7 w/ 7up. They tried to tell us we each had 4 drinks instead of 3 and charged us $82 dollars for our drinks alone. In addition we both ordered medium rare steak dinners, which took an hour to come out of the kitchen. Mine was $38 and my husbands was $45. They both were very well done with absolutely no flavor! They did zero about it to make things right. This place is was shockingly disappointing!!! They seemed to take care of their locals. I can't tell you enough, how good my breakfast was today, but I sure am going to try! I ordered the breakfast special which was a 5 meat and vegetable quiche. The pie crust was homemade and the filling was loaded with fresh vegetables, meats and lots of different kinds of cheese! The biscuit on the side was homemade. I regret not taking a picture of my plate. My lunch date enjoyed the Corned beef hash, just the way he liked it! Crispy! The fried eggs were medium just as he asked with Crispy bacon with a side of grits. The portions are very generous! As for our beverages, I had refillable sweet tea which was sweetened perfectly!
