Today was a beautiful day for tamales! 🫔🫔🫔 My last trip to the area was when I noticed Tamale Hut Café and made note to stop next time I was in the city - today was the day! I knew that this would be an awesome place for a great authentic tamale - I was definitely spot on. I LOVE the vegan options offered - I tried a broccoli 🥦, a mushroom 🍄, and a chicken tamale. The green sauce was a very flavorful addition. What made my experience the best was the customer service provided by Alex - very welcoming when I told him I was excited this was my first visit. The café is so clean. And seating is open, airy and spacious - makes the atmosphere inside bright and comfortable. A worthwhile stop-in for a great bite, lunch or dinner - support them!

I feel really bad leaving a review like this because the guy who seemed to be the owner tried to make conversation and was very friendly, but these are some of the worst tamales I’ve ever had…. I paid $19.99 for HALF a dozen: ordered cheese and the cheese was so awful it tasted like nacho cheese sauce in a tamale. Green Chicken was EXTREMELY dry and on top of that the guy microwaved the tamales, so do not expect them to be fresh. :( I walked into the bathroom and everything is very outdated, it seems the business is hanging on by a thread and that’s why they don’t serve fresh tamales, they might not have daily clientele. Won’t be coming back here :( I wish them luck

This is a pleasant place to get a wide variety of tamale flavors. I ordered the tamale special which comes with two tamales, a side, and a drink. I added an extra tamale to try another flavor. The chicken mole tamale was my favorite! The chicken in chile verde salsa could have been better with more salsa, but you can order extra salsa on the side. I also ordered the sweet pineapple tamale and it had a nice level of sweetness, but I would have liked it more if it had pineapple chunks (which is how my family makes them so I might be biased haha). The owner is extremely nice and welcoming. I would like to go back and try some of their other flavors.
