Vesuvio Bakery & Deli — Restaurant in Riverside Township

An OLD SCHOOL, Southern Italy Bakery & Deli. The owner, who also appears to be The-Baker, gave me glimpse into how to run a successful business; spend a minute or 2 to speak w/your Customers, remember your “Regulars”-&-don’t forget to “bust-balls” wit’ ‘em too 😉…..”Hey-you can’t come in here lookin like dat” he declares to his unshaven fishing buddy/Customer…to which his Fishing buddy -gives a shrug😝😂 Besides the familiarity to the vibe- this outta the way Bakery that far outshines D’Amatos Bakery-partially due to each tube(Shell) being stuffed on demand. Oh- & don’t you dare get a fancy flavored cannoli (Pina Colada-😱)- No self-respecting Italiano (would EVER) stray from the REGULAR- (“not too much PowderedSugar-please!) only the regular will make you smile- broadly.

I wish I took more pictures- But I was overwhelmed by my feeling of joy For discovering this gem.

BTW- “North Riverside”- happens to be SOUTH- and WEST- and I did not see any RIVERS-on my way dere, from CHICAGO. So-whoever is “the Branding Genius” that named this town, outta think about A ReBrand-for North?...

If you're in the area by Cermak Rd. & 1st Ave I highly recommend to stop in by "Vesuvio Bakery and Deli."

You can get large donuts and danishes for only $1. Also they have fully cooked Focaccia Sandwiches ready to go just heat in the microwave for 90-120 seconds and ready to eat.

Also their Cannolis are fresh to where they put the cream into the Cannoli shell after you order it. To me this way it keeps the flavor of the cream full and not exposed to open air where it can dull the taste.

I was in the area and had a taste for some baked goods so i Googled bakeries in the area and saw that this place has many good reviews. So i decided to stop in and was very pleased that i did.

Pina was the person that took care of me and was pleased that she answered my questions about the pastries they had since that was my first time there.

Also this is a family owned business and not a big corporation company. I'll gladly support and give my business to local businesses that have both good products/food...

Delicious Authentic Italian food with Wonderful Owners!

We go here frequently and love trying new foods and rebuying our favorites. With options from a variety of pasta and sandwiches, Stuffed focaccia, cannolis, Italian sausage and beef, cookies and cakes there is a meal for any event. My kids are picky eaters, but they always look forward to the food we bring home from Vesuvio. They eat it all!

The owners are wonderful. The customer service is superb and they are always fun to talk to. I highly recommend this bakery/deli.

Update: Experience is still awesome. My family loves coming here and talking to Gino and his family. They make the place...
