Overall not a typical restaurant. Food was awful/sketchy. Listen folks my husband will eat ANYthing. I once made him mini cheesecakes and he ate the last one 1-2 months after I made it. He eats the most questionable food and pretty much never complains… but man he was disgusted with their food to the point he couldn’t finish it. He ordered the nachos and they came drowned in fake cheese sauce. Their menu says cheese, not weird fake cheese sauce. My oldest daughter got a tostada and it looked pretty questionable as well. Salsa and beans were just canned and poured in a bowl. I felt so embarrassed because usually they both eat everything and everything at this restaurant was just so off including their food. If you’re traveling and are thinking about stopping in, don’t! The gas station down the road is probably a better choice for the whole family! I’ll add a photo of the menu that says “cheese” not “fake liquid cheese bath”. Server seemed like she’s probably a pretty nice person but seemed annoyed by our presence and like she didn’t want to be there. I get it tho, my husband and daughter wanted to just leave after tasting the stale chips, but I wanted to give the restaurant the benefit of the doubt. I wish I had just supported him in walking out. Now I just hope he and the kids don’t get sick! (I luckily chose...
Read moreTo start off we were served stale chips. We weren't imagining it because when we asked if they had some fresh she said oh yes let me get some fresh ones. The salsa was not that good salsa you expect from a Mexican restaurant. Our servers were very slow. Anytime we asked for something like utensils or water it took about five mins. Our meals all came a few mins apart. The carne asada was flavorless. I've made better with simple Johnny's seasoning. The beans were also bland. I had an iced tea that looked watered down and didn't have any taste. I asked for some sugar and was told they didn't have any. I asked how they dipped our margarita glasses in sugar if they didn't have any and only then did they get me some sugar, which still didn't help so I ordered a horchata. I can say the horchata and rice were good! For the price we were pretty disappointed. They weren't that busy only a few patrons so there was no reason for such slow, mediocre service. We...
Read moreMy friend and I are petite women with smaller appetites. We stopped here for lunch on a road trip north. We asked the waitress if we could order from the kids menu, and she said “yes”. So we each ordered a kids’ enchilada with rice and beans. She returned later to ask if we wanted only an enchilada, or a combo. We said again that we wanted the kids’ plate. When she returned again with the food, she brought adult sized plates, and when asked by us why, she said that the chef would not give us kids’ plates after all. And, she said that the kids’ plates don’t come with rice and beans, but the menu clearly stated that they do. We felt that this was very poor communication and a kind of bait and switch by Andaluz. The food was just okay after all of this and we could eat only half. My rice was even cold. Go here only if you want to be misled. They charged us the full, adult price to top it all off....
