I was excited to try this. This is not a family friendly restaurant. This is a bar that happens to serve greasy food to go with your margarita. It was 55° (best guess) My son and myself had to wear gloves while we were inside. They do not have any other food, but they said they had some nuggets, I think they were leftover or their own personal stash. We were grateful they were willing to do that for a kid. Everything was over the top spicy. I like mild-medium spice, I regularly eat at authentic Mexican restaurants. I've been to the real deal in other countries. We ordered the shrimp which came out, after asking for them to be as mild as possible. They were completely drenched in a mixture of hotsauce+distinct flavor of tapatio. The shells were left on and impossible to peel off. I have had in South America delicious fried shrimp with shells on and liked it. But when you fry them it makes it so the shell is crispy and is pleasant while eating it. These shrimp tasted like they were boiled in hot sauce. The shimp shells were crammed in our teeth and gums and not breaking down. Unpleasant. I ordered the pastor enchiladas. They were so dried out, the meat was dry little balls, as if I made a pork jerky. I love authentic enchilada sauce, there was barely any on in the sauce and it tasted horrible. I thought maybe I was being too picky, my husband tried it and he spit it out. My son wouldn't eat his chicken nuggets, he said there was too much water in them. I grabbed one and squeezed it. The most grease I've ever seen a chicken nugget hold drizzled out. I tried to use a napkin to help squeeze the grease out to make the best of the situation. As a parent, I've tried all types of nuggets, from burger King to homemade ones at a nice restaurant. I've never seen them hold oil inside. Not sure what happened. My husbands burrito was just okay. I will say it was HUGE. The chips we liked, the salsa was a spicy kick but well made! The beans were good, so was the rice. The tortilla that the burrito was wrapped in was delicious. Our waitress had no other tables so we are not sure where she was most of the time. She asked if I wanted a box for my full plate of enchiladas. I said no, it was not good. She just said okay and walked away. We decided to cut our losses and just pay the check and leave. We were so cold as it was...
Read moreWe came in at around 8pm tonight. We already walked around town and every other restaurant was closed, so we decided to try this one out. We asked for food and drink menus, which they didn’t have, and gave us one option for food which was shrimp with spicy sauce, that they could not remove. I’m vegetarian so already I felt awkward knowing I would be the only one not eating anything, and then proceed to tell us 5 minutes later the kitchen was closed. On top of that the waitress seemed to make it so anything we wanted to order to drink was impossible. Then made sure to let us know that they can only take cash. We walked out shortly after feeling completely unwelcome and frustrated. Not sure if this person wanted to find reasons to refuse us service or if this business is just that awful, but don’t waste your time if you’re...
Read moreSurprisingly great restaurant. came in at 11:15 AM and it was pretty dead, like we were the only two people there. It was kinda sketchy until we were served by an extremely friendly waitress. Menus were kinda in bad condition- I posted pictures of them. Waited for about half hour, which was surprising because it was only us there (I just assume they were cleaning, no complaints there), but once our food came out, the wait was well worth it. Little strange to include orange slices in both of our meals, would definitely have preferred lime, but didn't bring down the quality of the food. The char was perfect on everything. Even my jalapeno was caramelized perfectly. You can definitely tell that both BOH and FOH know exactly what they're doing. If you haven't been here, I say give...
