Quincy Valley Historical Society & Museum Picture The town of Quincy circa 1911. Managing Quincy's Heritage Site, the QVHSM is a registered 501(c)3 charity. Founded in 2002, the Society has undertaken phenomenal challenges in just 12 years, restoring the 1904 Reiman-Simmons House, now listed on the National Register of Historic Place, and the 1904 Pioneer Church, now listed on the Washington Heritage Register. Both facilities, a Summer Kitchen, garden, modern bathroom facilities, Archive and beautifully landscaped grounds make this heritage site one that our community can be proud of. We invite you to visit us and learn the stories of the early settlers of this valley.... Even more, we invite you to become a part of this community of volunteers, who are committed to all aspects of our mission - from preserving history to providing educational and cultural events!

The Reiman-Simmons house is beautiful and I recently had the privilege of shooting a wedding reception (M. Laine Photography) next door at the Heritage Barn. I loved the proximity of the two venues, and that the barn had a wall of windows that slide open. Lots of grass and space for yard games at either location as well!

I love this place very much but very private. Just had my 45 class reunion just last weekend, Sept 13-14 2024. It was so much fun with my friends and classmate 1979

Had my wedding here and let me tell you… unless you want a grumpy old lady around for your special day, don’t have your wedding there. It’s a beautiful place but Harriett was very rude in every way on my rehearsal night and wedding day. My photographer stepped on a cactus completely by accident which went through her shoe, Harriett was only worried about her garden rather than my photographers foot. She came off very rude so I had to reassure my photographer that everything was going to be okay because she was left feeling embarrassed and bad about something that was completely an accident. I was also parked for less than 10 minutes in the supposed fire lane (which is completely unmarked as a fire lane) in order to unload the entire wedding party’s dresses and tuxes including my wedding gown and she was angrily telling everyone at the venue that I needed to move my car immediately without considering the fact that the “fire lane” was completely unmarked as one. Almost my entire wedding party told me at one point or another that she had came up to them in a hostile way or they had seen her approach someone else in that matter. My bridesmaids brought food into the house where we were to get ready in and Harriett approached then once again, in a hostile way, saying that no food or drinks were allowed in there and made them leave the room which was not known to my knowledge and AGAIN there was absolutely nothing stating that they couldn’t have food or drinks in the house. We met with her to do a walkthrough almost four months prior to my wedding date, FOUR whole months, and me nor my family remember her ever mentioning anything about the no food allowed rule which even if she did I think that the rules should be repeated or clearly posted for everyone to see come wedding day… we are all so busy and brain fogged during a wedding so yeah it would’ve been helpful had she of approached everyone or just reminded us in a friendly way. If she wants to enforce that rule then I believe it should be posted very clearly for the entire bridal party to see. Our wedding party along with my family left nothing out of place after leaving the venue, we didn’t cause any damage, and we aren’t four years old hence why I’m NOT happy with the way she treated us and approached every situation. I don’t know if it’s because we are young and she thought we were irresponsible, or if she was just having a bad couple of days. But her way of approaching these situations was not acceptable. Of course she didn’t treat my parents the way she treated us which is why I think it must have to do with her thinking we are irresponsible kids that were going to trash her place. Once again we didn’t leave a single thing out of order and left no damage. So I say if you can’t handle small inconveniences nor approach them in a respectful way, don’t advertise your facility as a wedding venue… we did nothing to deserve her...
