I recently visited Indian Grill House in Quincy, IL for lunch after hearing that they opened not too long ago. As a Muslim, I’m always cautious about what I eat, and I noticed the restaurant has a bar inside and no visible Halal certification. While they may serve Halal food, having clear signage or certification would help build trust with the Muslim community. If you want to cater to diverse customers, especially those who follow dietary restrictions, transparency goes a long way. We tried their biryani, but the staff didn’t ask about our spice preference—and unfortunately, it was far too spicy for our group. We could barely finish a third of the portion and had to take the rest home. That said, I’m not writing this as a negative review—just some feedback. I believe in supporting local businesses, especially new ones. I wish the team all the best and hope they consider aligning more closely with the needs and values of the community. Good luck and thank you!

Very bad experience, not at all authentic Indian food, nothing is freshly made, first tried lamb biryani was worst, Naan - flat breads were very hard , looks like frozen or re-heated for sure and on top of it they are serving expired beverages. When asked about it, manager was very rude, disrespectful and saying I have to check before drinking if it’s expired or not. I am sure, this one guy (manager) is enough for this newly opened restaurant to close soon, I feel sorry for the owner. I have been to many Indian restaurants never experienced anything like this. Will never visit this place again, I don’t want to get food poisoned/sick.

The food was absolutely amazing. While yes there is a wait for your food but you are told this in ADVANCE. Every dish is prepared fresh and comes hot. My wife had the Fish Curry and loved it. I had the Hakka Noodles with chicken and the portion size was massive. People complaining about times need to understand they are brand new and extremely busy with a small kitchen. Be patient and you will be rewarded with a dish that nothing in this area can compare to. I will gladly return multiple times.

If I could, I would leave more than 5 stars. The service was above and beyond.

The spicy food was enough to please my spice-connoisseur spouse. He ordered the most intense level of spiciness for his dish, lamb korma. He said he didn't notice it at first, but that the spicy sensation built up as he ate more of his dish. In the five years we have been together, I have never seen his face change color from a reaction to spicy food until tonight at Indian Grill House. He already told me what dish he wants to try next time we visit! He said their food has a pleasant balance of spiciness and other flavors.

I made a poor choice while ordering (I don't handle spiciness from capsaisin very well because of health problems), and the staff was very accommodating. I was almost too embarrassed to say something, but that feeling quickly went away because the staff were so polite and friendly, and the substitute meal (which they brought out very quickly) was so delicious! Even without the spiciness, I was still able to enjoy the complexity of flavor in the substitute dish. Next time I will just ask our server for recommendations.

The sensation of spiciness does not linger in your mouth after finishing your meal, which both my spouse and I appreciated.

We were stuffed but we got some dessert to-go and tried it before putting it in the fridge. Very tasty and you won't find anything like it in this area.

The atmosphere was very cozy. They were busy, but there were buffers to the noise, so my spouse and I could hear each other while speaking quietly. They were playing relaxing, mostly instrumental music that wasn't too loud. I will definitely invite my family member, who wears hearing aids, to eat here with us sometime. They have LOTS of vegetarian options, and their Taj Mahal beer is gluten free and tastes delightfully crisp.

I hope this place sticks around in Quincy for a long time. Don't sleep on Indian...

I've ordered take out from Indian Grill House a dozen times. Now, I'm a bit of an Indian food connoisseur... well, an ameatur connoisseur. I travel frequently and always order Indian food- as up until recently, Quincy did not have an Indian restaurant. When Indian Grill House opened both my husband and I were ecstatic- as we had hoped for a local Indian place ever since we moved here in 2019. We swore even if the food was lackluster, we'd loyally support the place, just to keep Indian food accessible to us.

When I tell you that Indian Grill House has better Indian food than Seattle, Chicago, New York- I mean it. And I'm as suprised as you are. A high quality genuinely authentic full-of-flavor Indian place in lil ole' QUINCY? Yes. Butter chicken to DIE for- literally. It's ruined other Indian places for me! Now when I travel, I find myself disappointed in other Indian food, and craving my hometown take-out.

Their curry is immaculate. The naan is always fresh, hot, and perfectly cooked. And everyone I've spoken to agrees- just universal praise for any dish they've tried. What an absolute treasure to come to Quincy.

Every single take-out meal is worth the price (which is a bit high for Quincy). The food is always hot and spiced to the level you requested (You want mild- they give you mild. You want your mouth to actually be on fire, they'll do that too.)

All of our kids love the food as well. Any chicken meal, in particular, is a big fave with our kids. Their goat meat was one of the first foods our baby-led weaning 11 month old ate!

I can't speak to the customer service or dining-in experience, as I've only done take-out. But the food alone is worth every star I'm giving. You will not be...

I was really excited when I heard there would be an Indian restaurant in Quincy - so much so that I went the first day it opened to try it. Unfortunately, this restaurant doesn’t seem ready for prime time. My wife and I waited more than 90 minutes without getting any food whatsoever; they started to bring out some of the food shortly thereafter. Around two hours in, we finally had to leave to go to an appointment - and most of our food was not out yet. Waiting that long for food is absurd. The food we were able to try was good, but I can’t overlook how long the whole process took. We asked for our remaining unserved food to go at the end…somehow 2+ hours after ordering, they still didn’t have the rest of what we ordered ready. Then they had trouble with taking the food not served off the bill. Throughout all of this, they were checking out a ton to go orders while they had a full restaurant of people sitting there without food. It’s just crazy to serve food to delivery drivers while people are sitting in your restaurant for hours unfed. I’m still excited about having Indian food in Quincy, but they really need to get their act together. It’s probably going to be a while until I...
