Long Way Brewing — Restaurant in Radford City

So, every time we have come up to visit the area, I’ve seen the sign on 81 for Long Way Brewing. I was headed back home to Georgia and there was that sign again, and I literally made up my mind at the last second and hit the exit ramp and drove the nine minutes out of my way to check it out. Turns out it’s the best decision I’ve made in awhile. The gentleman working the taps was super friendly and very helpful, offering me samples of whatever I wanted and letting me reach the conclusion that I liked and mostly loved everything I sampled. It sucked that I only had a few minutes to spare, but walking out of there with a growler of Steppin Up Blonde Ale, some glasses and stickers, I realized that this was hands down my favorite brewery so far. As my GPS guided me in, I thought for sure I was in the wrong place. A Seventh Day Adventist church? Well, it used to be. The taproom is stunning. Walking up from the parking lot the outside patio is a perfect place to sit and unwind from the day. Beautiful view of the sunset. Friendly staff all around. The only drawback is when I asked the taproom server if I could smoke on lower patio or if there was a designated area the answer I got was if you go somewhere out to the side away you should be good, but you cannot take your beer as that is an out of bounds area. I know not a concern for many. However, some craft beer goers do enjoy a place of chat have a smoke while sipping a brew that honestly was very good. All and all...

I been coming here since these three working guys opened this neighborhood tap room. The beer has gotten exceedingly better over the past year they have been open. The venue is spectacular both indoors and outdoors during the warmer weather. They are one of the few places that have an actual stage for live music and it's a great small place for acoustic performances. They don't have a kitchen but did trucks are scheduled regularly and there are a variety of local options that deliver locally it waking distance to bring your own food in.
