I have always enjoyed the food and coffee at The Radford Coffee Company, but my most recent visit inspired me to write a review.
I imagine that running a business during COVID can be challenging. However, RCC, a local family run business seems to have risen to the challenge. This place has something for everyone!
For starters, the shop was immaculate. It seemed that one employee was designated to keeping tables and chairs sanitized. All employees were wearing masks, and it is required to wear a mask if you’re walking around inside.
There also seemed to be an option for every comfort level. Inside, a group of friends laughed and sipped coffee. They could relax with their masks off, as long as they were sitting at their table. I opted for outside seating at the two person tables. If you have a family or want even more space, you can walk across the street and enjoy your coffee at a picnic table.
The best part was when they brought my food out and my name was written in sauce on the plate! It’s just another example of how this business is going above and beyond to keep customers...

I also got a Turkey Sando gluten sensitive. The food was fresh and well prepared.
The staff was pleasant and helpful as always. I have been repeatedly pleased with the clean atmosphere and the diverse selection of food and coffee drinks as well as the occasional music offerings.
There are choices for many dietary preferences and needs. Non dairy milk is available. Things like the gluten free bread in the sandwich in my pictures substituting soup or salad do have up charges.
The bakery case was fully of amazing treats!!! I enjoy their peanut butter truffles. Staff previously told me they take turns baking these delicious treats for us to enjoy!
The atmosphere was flexible and comfortable, with places for conversation, dining and study.
Generally a breakfast and lunch place, I have noticed that they are now open Thursday...

The service from the all volunteer staff is top notch, patient, and welcoming. Prices are very fair, especially for such high quality, and the food menu looked interesting. The interior is a lovely mix of old wood and large paintings of the actual farmers and families the shop's profits support. Radford Coffee exists to support Project Ezra which supports native communities along the Coconut River in Nicaragua by funding schools, teacher education, and hospitals. All the coffee is directly sourced and I understand that it is roasted in Nicaragua at a coffee shop run by the growers. Does close early, at 2 PM, which is a shame. On street parking right outside the building is...
