We are on a mission to find the best Margarita, Grandma, & Grandpa Pizza in North Jersey! We gave Pompeii Pizzeria, Clark, NJ a try. We ordered the Margarita pie. They were not kidding when they advertise "ẗhin crust pizza." The crust was very thin and to some this could be a deal breaker if youŕe looking for a "doughier" pizza. We absolutely loved it. I am huge sicilian pizza fan due to the thick crust but this margarita pie was absolutely delicious. The fresh mozzarella was placed on the pie perfectly, revealing the sauce. The sauce was very fresh and just enough on the crust to taste the fresh mozzarella and sauce combination. With the crust so thin, you really are able to taste the other ingredients without the dough getting in the way. The basil was not cooked on but was served fresh which is always the better way to eat a margarita pie. We would give this pie 5 stars but the crust was almost too thin; the cheese and sauce easily fell off as it was not crispy to hold the ingredients in place. Overall this was not a bad margarita pie especially for the price. Awesome job, Pompeii, we will definitely be back for the margarita pie!
Onto the next pizzeria, we are trying one every Friday night. What else is there to do during this pandemic? Any suggestions on what pizzeria we should try next......
Read moreI ordered 10 garlic knots, a cheesesteak, three buffalo slices and two plain slices.
Let’s start: Garlic Knots - taste like crazy bread from Little Caesar’s. The gentlemen took a bag of Parmesan cheese (I believe that’s what it was.) and used that as partial seasoning with olive oil. Buffalo Chicken - Wow! Whichever person reviewed the buffalo chicken saying it was good needs to come with me to a real pizzeria so I can show them what a REAL buffalo chicken slice is. This buffalo chicken slice tasted like it had a weird taste. It was almost as if they didn’t even use buffalo sauce and used something else. Plain Slice - What the heck is this? This is not pizza, it’s cardboard with old oil mixed with stale cheese on a watered down sauce. Pizza is ALL about the sauce and the dough. Thin crust pizza is even more about the sauce. Cheesesteak - This was actually DELICIOUS, but lacked salt. I just recommend they add a hint of salt to make it have some flavor.
I am so sorry because I really thought this place would be really good. The owner, and the rest of the individuals in the place, were amazing with their customer service. Unfortunately, I go to a restaurant for the food first and then for the...
Read moreReview of Pompeii Pizza: Disappointing Experience
I recently ordered delivery from Pompeii Pizza, and I have to say, my experience was nothing short of terrible.
When my first pizza arrived, I was shocked to find it completely burnt. The bottom was charred black and almost inedible. I called the restaurant immediately to let them know about the issue and requested a replacement.
To my dismay, the second pizza arrived just five minutes later, but it was clear that it was not fresh. It tasted like an old pizza that had been sitting around for way too long. At that point, I was so frustrated that I didn’t even bother returning it; I just wanted to speak to the owner about my experience.
I left my phone number for a callback, but it’s been over a week and no one has reached out to me. This lack of communication and quality control is extremely disappointing.
Needless to say, I will not be ordering from Pompeii Pizza again. I hope they can improve their services in the future, but for now, I cannot...
