This is not the Rice Bowl of my youth from 20 years ago. They used to have the very best Chinese food in a 20 mile radius. Ive been coming here since I was a child. It was a family owned business but was sold long ago. Everything used to be excellent, top notch. It used to be packed every nite but was well worth the wait. Even after it changed hands the food was still good, but not now. In the past 5 years, the food has gotten worse & worse. They used to have the best homemade shrimp & pork egg rolls. They were wrapped in a crispy light wonton wrapper but now it's all cabbage & maybe 2 shrimp if your lucky & the same thick 6 layers of wonton wrapped around it. The fried rice is soggy & bland & the pork in it fatty. The house fried rice has 95% rice & veggies. The beef and pork dishes are chewy and all dishes have mostly vegetables with hardly any meat or seafood. Now the food lacks any flavor or taste. The soups taste like slightly flavored water. The pork wontons in the soup, well let's just say I don't want to know what's inside of them cause it has no taste. The last time I got take out which was a large order of over 8 entrees which cost over $100 & it was the worst Chinese food I've ever had. It was a complete waste of time and money not to mention it gave me an upset stomach. We ended up throwing out what was left after our initial 1st servings. That experienced turned me off of Chinese food for 6 months. I will never go there ever again. I hate to give such a horrible review to any business but I don't want anyone wasting their time or money as I did. It's obvious by the lack of the quality, preparation & presentation of the food they don't care or take pride in...
Read moreThis place is delicious. For people who look at the building and think it’s a hole in the wall-you are right! That is all this man needs because you should beware of flashy places that don’t put the money into their ingredients and obviously spend their money on decor. This place focuses all attention on the food! The meat is actually meat and not bits of sketchy meat mashed together and breaded to death then sauced up-it is flavorful and you can see and taste the chicken and meat. The vegetables are plentiful and crunchy. Rice bowl does a great job with all of their dishes-the soups and lo mein are okay- I like a lot of spices and these two areas are lacking for me. Overall, I have a few favorite dishes and this place...
Read moreTook quite a bit to get someone on the phone to order and then we ended up waiting at the restaurant as the food was not ready when they said it would be. However, food was worth the wait!!! Sweet and Sour chicken and General Tso's chicken were huge all white meat pieces. Unlike anything we have had anywhere else! Also, egg rolls are very generous size and delicious! We will be ordering...
