My wife and I celebrated her birthday at Asia Pot | Thai Food Raleigh last week, and it wasn't just dinner – it was an absolutely perfect experience from start to finish! If we could only eat at one restaurant in the entire Raleigh-Durham-Chapel Hill area, Asia Pot would be it, hands down.
✨ Ambience: Stepping inside felt like entering a warm, inviting haven. The atmosphere was incredibly cozy and soothing – soft lighting, tasteful decor, and just the right buzz. It was the ideal setting for a relaxed, special celebration.
👏 Service: The service was truly above and beyond! The staff weren't just attentive; they were genuinely friendly and invested in making our experience great. They offered spot-on recommendations based on our preferences, and their knowledge of the menu was impressive. Everything felt personalized and unhurried.
🍜 The Food (Spicy Heaven & Appetizer Perfection!): We started with the Deep Fried Squids with Sweet Chili Sauce, and let me tell you, it ABSOLUTELY STOLE THE SHOW for appetizers! Crispy, tender, perfectly cooked squid with that addictive sweet-spicy chili sauce – an instant favorite. Then came our mains, customized to our love for heat: Asia Pot Noodles: Personalized spicy and hot – and they absolutely nailed it! Fiery, flavorful, and utterly delicious. Exactly what I dream of. Sautéed Mongolian Chicken: Again, requested extra spicy – tender chicken, vibrant veggies, and that incredible, bold Mongolian sauce packed a serious, satisfying punch. Miso Soup: The perfect warm, savory side to balance the heat.
Every single dish was bursting with fresh, authentic flavors. And the best part? The quality was outstanding, and it was all remarkably reasonably priced. We truly felt we got bang for every single buck spent – generous portions of top-notch food.
🎂 The Birthday Magic: Here's where Asia Pot truly stole our hearts. We mentioned it was my wife's birthday... and they remembered! Just as we were finishing our amazing meal, they surprised her with a beautiful dessert ice cream. It was such a thoughtful, unexpected gesture that genuinely made her night (and mine!). The look of delight on her face was priceless.
❤️ The Verdict: We left with full stomachs and hearts absolutely full of fond memories. Asia Pot delivered not just a meal, but a complete, joyful, and memorable dining experience. The combination of the cozy ambience, exceptional & personalized service, incredibly tasty and customizable food (starting with that showstopping squid!), at great value!, and that special birthday touch makes this place truly extraordinary.
Don't hesitate – go to Asia Pot! Whether it's a special occasion like a birthday or just a craving for phenomenal Thai food and incredible appetizers, they will exceed your expectations. It's the undisputed culinary crown jewel of the Triangle area for us now. Thank you, Asia Pot, for a perfect evening! We will be back VERY soon for more...
Read moreMax with Offline - Last night, we had the pleasure of attending an exclusive Offline Event at Asia Spot in Raleigh, and let me just say—it was an experience from start to finish. As soon as we walked in, we were greeted with a fiery welcome show that set the tone for the evening. Asia Spot doesn’t rely on gimmicks or over-the-top theatrics, but when they do add a touch of flare, it’s done with style and purpose. From there, everything only got better.
The restaurant itself was buzzing, yet somehow the staff managed to remain attentive, warm, and genuinely engaged with each table. Even in the midst of a packed house, service never felt rushed, and every detail was taken care of. It was the kind of hospitality that makes you feel like more than just a customer—you feel like a guest of honor.
We kicked things off with a spread of appetizers for the table: pork gyoza, scallion pancakes, bang bang shrimp, and the Malaysian Satay Combo. The gyoza stole my heart immediately—perfectly crisp on the outside, savory and juicy on the inside, it was easily my favorite starter. The satay offered a nice variety, but the chicken was the undeniable standout. The scallion pancakes were unlike any I’ve had before, paired with a sweet and sour dipping sauce that gave them a unique twist. And the bang bang shrimp? Crispy, flavorful, with just the right amount of kick.
The entrées, though, are where Asia Spot truly shines. We shared several dishes, and each one was packed with authentic flavor and layered complexity. The Sichuan Beef Hotpot was an absolute showstopper—rich, spicy, and perfectly balanced, the kind of dish you want to savor slowly with every bite (chefs kiss, truly). The Drunken Noodles were another highlight, bursting with bold flavor and definitely a must-try. The Pineapple Fried Rice was both sweet and savory with a subtle spice that gave it depth, while the Chow Mein (we opted for the mix combo) was beautifully traditional, executed with the kind of skill that makes simple dishes sing. And then came the Black Pepper Chicken—one of the table’s unanimous favorites. It had layers of flavor, fragrant peppery notes, and a richness that lingered. Every dish felt intentional, a true representation of authentic Asian cuisine.
By the end of the night, we were more than satisfied—we were impressed. Asia Spot isn’t just another restaurant near NC State, it’s a gem that deserves recognition and support. From the warm welcome to the unforgettable flavors, this is a spot that combines authenticity, passion, and heart in every detail.
We’ll absolutely be back, and if you’re looking for a restaurant that delivers not just food, but a full dining experience, I can’t recommend Asia...
Read moreHUGE fan of this place. I checked it out with my parents for a birthday lunch, and what a good decision that was! The food, ambience/decor, and service were all fantastic.
Parking was easy, and upon walking in we were impressed by the spaciousness, decor, and general nice ambiance. There was clear thought put into how the restaurant would look. The furniture is comfortable, in good condition, and everything was very clean.
We were helped by the two owners. My parents love talking to Chinese-speaking staff at restaurants, so we all quickly got to chatting. Max and his business partner (sorry, we didn’t catch her name!) were both so sweet, and we truly had a great time getting to know them. You can really tell that they poured their heart and soul into this newly opened restaurant. (Edit: just read through other reviews and saw that they’re the new owners and new chef, but the restaurant existed in another iteration prior to a few weeks ago. I urge you to try this new version!)
All that is good and well, but it wouldn’t matter if the food wasn’t good. Thank goodness the food was outstanding!! We really enjoyed ourselves, and the owners gave get eat suggestions. My parents are pretty picky with Asian food (they know what’s actually good!) and they were impressed. We collectively got an app of fried squid, the seafood hot pot, curry chicken hot pot, and sichuan hot pot. Each of these items was well flavored without being too salty, the hot pots had so much meat (or seafood) and vegetables, and overall each dish was just very well-balanced. I personally had the sichuan hot pot (not too spicy, about 4-5/10) and the beef was so deliciously tender. Max at one point even brought out some delicious Thai tea for us to try! Additionally, the menu is huge, so it’s almost guaranteed everyone in your party will find something they’d like to eat.
Truly, what a wonderful experience. I’ve already made plans to bring my husband and sister for a...
