Tldr: if you're getting pizza literally anywhere else, you're doing it wrong.
Ordered a Philly Stromboli and a calzone with mushrooms added. Added an order of garlic knots.
Food was fresh, cooked to order. Well seasoned without being overwhelming. All of the ingredients were fresh and authentic - the ham was real and light, rather than the processed ham cubes you usually get. The marinara sauce had stewed tomatoes and sliced fresh garlic. The mushrooms were fresh. It's the little things like this that will set this apart from "some pizza shop" and "a real pizza shop." This is a REAL pizza shop. You're getting food made right.
Now, since I rated it, let's talk about service. The men working today, an older gentleman and a younger guy, were friendly and gentle with everyone. A younger group of folks came in that appeared outside of the norm for the area - allow your mind to wander. Anywho, I would typically be concerned how people would treat the guests given that they were different. The gentlemen working were kind, respectful. They worked hard to meet the needs of these clients (one had an identified food restriction). They didn't negatively comment on their unusual appearance. They used proper pronouns. They even complimented the group's members for a variety of reasons. It may seem small, but the crew worked hard to include a group that would have been otherwise excluded at other establishments. Without waving a flag or adding a sticker to their door, they were more inclusive than any other shop I've seen this weekend.
Atmosphere - this is not a full service restaurant. There are 4 tables in front of the ordering counter. They had no issue serving people at the tables, but this is not a "sit down place." It's (wait for it) a NY style pizzeria. You don't typically sit down at a NY pizza joint. This is a great location for takeout, but if you plan to eat here, plan to have a small party....
Read moreWorst pizza I've ever had in my life, so bad I'm posting the first negative online food review I've ever made in my entire life because SOMEONE has to save people drawn in by the completely undeserved current rating. Completely overpriced for what it is, it tastes like someone saw a picture of a pizza and decided they wanted to make it for a living without having ever actually tasted pizza.
Every single ingredient was somehow bland, the crust was overcooked and overly thick and the toppings looked like they'd been thrown on by a blind epileptic. It tasted like every ingredient was sourced from the cheapest possible place.
My wife and I took 3 bites decided we couldn't take anymore and started picking the pepperoni off. Even that was inedible and bland. I've had better elementary school cafeteria pizza. Threw the whole thing in the compost. $35 bucks.
I wouldn't feed this to my worst enemy. I'm convinced the only reason this place is in business is because stoned college students have no standards and pizza places were pandemic-proof.
If this is "Authentic NY Pizza" I want New Yorkers to come take their pizza back. I'm convinced this place gamed their reviews. This is the restaurant that made me stop trusting...
Read moreFirst time ordering take out from this place and also the last. The pizza was mediocre, the toppings were awfully cut ex. Tomato slices and barely any protein. The cheese was hard to swallow, really chewy. I also found a piece of paper in my cheese, yuck.
The biggest issue I had was the service. When I called in to order I was greeted with hostility, I was told by the man on the phone why I was ordering 20mins before closing. I show up to pick up and both man were more interested on their phones (no wonder the pizza sucked). I am not sure if the paper in the pizza was intentional but I wouldn’t be surprised.
My question to the owner is why hire people who do not want to work. Why advertise you close at a set time yet have an issue taking an order before said time. Also suggest you work on your sanitation rating, guess that explain the piece of paper on my pizza.
To the gentleman who took my order and gave me an attitude, please just quit or find something else to do. You do not belong helping customers. Not everyone is built to work with...
