This one's a tough one to write as the Food is always delicious and the service was different. Bigger bowls I do love their bowls and options plus the option to eat healthier. Dressings and hummus are really good..I actually liked it better than Chipotle (it is different but has more flavor).... however the whole operation is run poorly. Not the fastest. (You're not paying to much for better ingredients but.. it's not a fast food chain either, and Fast is an understatement for Cava)
You might want to avoid My take on this and why it's gotten worse Cava is not a franchise and seems corporate run so there is no care or incentive to provide great service which is sad. It's a great concept that works but it does not work if you have no management or terribly run territories. I see alot of people blaming employees, I get it and to a large degree yes, it is their fault but...It's not always the employees fault as it definitely comes from the top down. No matter what though they should be welcoming and acknowledge you exist, apologetic, thankful etc...and that's not the case.
Management Whoever the manager of the locations or the territory manager is definitely seems they do not have a handle on this nor care to and it trickles down to the employees who in turn probably don't care anymore. Still they should be thankful for your business and treat you with kindness, be apologetic and explain what's going on. Maybe...Put in a way to TIP the employees. (still needs management and territory manager). What horrible oversight of the stores.
Mobile vs in store They have no idea how to handle in store customers vs mobile orders. You are going to have to plan for about 45mins+ either way. (If they don't run out of food) There has to be a point where you make a decision to address this. You have to either pause the online ordering if line back ups. Definitely need to hire more staff and dedicate an employee (s) to the mobile ordering only. I can tell you since I was there they lost about $800+ in business from cancellations and walk outs plus upset patrons.
The food and concept are really good.
Overall feedback from this visit: Food areas- A mess looking and not well stocked. Out of food and not enough staff to prepare and serve. Ice machine - broken Drink area - filthy and messy Floor a mess No napkins out Service - as stated above - poor Appearance of eating in - no one cares to clean the areas and garbages overflowing I am not a fan of eating at places not very clean as it makes you wonder about the food too.
I really hope they turn...
Read moreI really hate doing this, but every-time we go to this location they are closing the restaurant down early and its not fair to the customer who is spending $15+ a head for supper.
We rolled in at 8:15 and its posted as open until 10pm. The staff immediately informs us they are out of half the menu because they don't want to make any more of the items. This was brown rice for goodness sakes. It was not an expensive meat option.
The greens were picked over and about 1/2 of the choices remaining and they were basically out of all the dressings. We had to ask specifically for more just to finish the dish.
Then I turn around and head to the drink fountains where there is only 1 single options still running. This is almost 2 hours before closing on a Saturday. There is no tea, no lemonade, and none of their signature limeade. I settle for the sour apple punch as its the only thing left other than raw soda. I know why it was still full, it really was not the best flavor.
We sit down and start eating the chicken is cooked but very cold because its been sitting for hours. I see the staff start heading for the drink fountain and pouring out the last remaining apple juice- its now 830 and they don't close until 10PM. I run over there out of my chair and ask her for a second cup so I can atleast get one refill with my meal, of the drink I never wanted to pay for to begin with. She looked at me like a deer in the headlights like it was normally to just close the restaurant while people are there having dinner.
We then proceeded to watch customer after customer be charged full price for half the menu and no drinks. Its not fair to charge people this kind of money for fast casual food and then hold back on the products. When the menu or drinks are out, there should be a discount or drinks should be free or give out extra bread. Something to show some customer service.
If the store can only stand to be open until 8pm, then put that on the website. Its not right to advertise 10pm but silently close 2 hours before that and still charge the full prices. If you are trying to conserve food, then offer a discount when customers have to eat the options they didn't come there for. But please leave the drinks out until closing time at...
Read moreI placed an online order on 3/17 at the Falls of Neuse location in Raleigh NC. The due time was 4:15pm. I showed up for the order at 4:35 to give plenty of extra time to complete the order. I often try order online but it’s never ready on time or They don’t start making it until I get there so I try to leave extra time. The order not only wasn’t ready, no one had started to make the order. I walked in and asked about the order. They asked my name twice, looked at a screen then printed out my order. I take these meals to work so I didn’t have time to wait. Even when I asked about the order someone started the meal, walked off, someone else came over from them took it and added a few other things and then walked off again. I would have been late so I had to tell them to cancel I didn’t have time to wait. I was short tempered and asked why they even bothered with online orders if it makes no difference?! I don’t understand what’s so hard about completing an online order of assembly line food.. There were at least 6 people I counted working and a party of 8 people already eating with two people in line. I love the food. It used to be amazing here. I used to bear the inconvenience of a long wait at least 3 times a week to eat here. I want this place to be so much better. I work in the restaurant industry and have for 20 years and I don’t understand how a business can fail so bad over and over again. I stopped ordering for a few months hoping staff and management would get it together and it seems worse than ever. Coming in to wait in line is even worse and it seems there’s no rice made, then no falafel made Or such and such isn’t available. I’ve even gotten sour, what seems like spoiled rice before. I’ve never complained or taken food back but this is crazy. How is anyone suffering this...
