We went there for a late lunch and you can sense a shift in the atmosphere from the slow, relaxed afternoon to preparing for the evening Saturday crowd. Every customer wants the best experience regardless of the day and time that they come. I'm grateful for the waiter, Austin, who suggested the perfect beers for my taste. My husband and I were playing a game and Austin took a turn for fun, per my request. You know the place is great if it is frequented by a customer who also manages several important restaurants in town; Chad was smart and funny. However, another "regular" who knew everyone's name was rather cold, distant, and rude. When I approached with friendly conversation to eventually ask for a picture, he made a comment that he could "see immediately that I was drunk." (I'm writing this review an hour later and still upset by this negative interaction. Rachel is the festive bartender.) The owner was warm and welcoming to the others at the bar that he recognized; even though he posed for a photo for my special date night, you could tell that he was distracted and brushing me off. Despite this, the quality of the food was worth another trip. In addition to the Irish nacho chips, I had an amazing Reuben and my husband's burger was perfectly medium rare. This was my second time eating there. I live very close by and could be a potential customer often, but they didn't win me over. If the owner and familiar customer weren't there, it would have been a fulfilling, perfect place to go out to eat and socialize. They are remodeling soon, so I do plan to go again to see the new space, perhaps when they are busy with live music or...
Read moreI was incredibly disappointed with this place. Myself and 4 friends arrived on a Thursday evening for dinner and a few drinks. The place seemed full and lively. They had a band playing and the atmosphere was great. So we naturally thought this was going to be a great new spot for us to hang out.
However that quickly took a turn. After walking in, we were not greeted and there were no signs explaining the seating for dinner. Not a big deal. So we started looking for a spot that could fit 5 of us. During that search we were bumped into by the same waiter 2x even though he could have VERY easily walked around us. We were already next to a wall and couldn't move any further out of his way. However there was a good 4-5ft of clear floor space on the other side of us.
We ended up finding a table and sat down. After approx 5 minutes of no service at all and several staff walking by, my friend got up to ask for a server. He was told our side was closed for seating bc they wanted to look more full by having everyone on the main side.
However that side didn't have seating available for 2 let alone 5 since the band and dancing patrons were taking up almost all of the already limited floor space...and there were individuals sitting alone at the only 3 booths/tables available on that side.
So we left.
Perhaps this place would be great for lunch or a very early evening dinner but it was definitely not a wise choice for an 7/8pm weeknight dinner and drink session. Not sure if I'll give it a second shot or not bc even though it was beautiful, the staff could have been more helpful...
Read moreWent to see "Too Tall" play and ran into GW. They were playing on a Sunday afternoon. I traveled with a friend (A birthday boy) and had a really good time. The cover fee of $5 was supposed to be added to my tab, but honestly I have not checked. I looked at the bottom line, I will check before, I mark it down in my ledger. The place has a great patio. I believe that all of the customers were outside after all be we had the most glorious day in August. I have been there numerous times over the years, and it is always a great dining experience with great atmosphere. The show started at 3 and ran to 7:30 almost 8. You cannot beat listening to A great trio with GW, Too Tall and Pete (The Little Big Band). They are awesome. I love listening to them together. Even though I did not eat anything, this time, they have great menu and as far as I can tell, still just as delicious (Good sign - empty plates). Hands down a great place to get together with family and friends. It felt like a deserted dining room, because we were blessed with the lovely weather. It would be a great place for a reunion of any kind....
