Stopped into Eastcut in the Raleigh Iron Works on my way back from a trip to Chatham County - Had read the great reviews and had to get there and see for myself. Had the Boardwalk Italian as I figured it would be a good baseline...just outstanding. As I told Jen, the general manager who introduced herself and asked me how everything was, I knew right away it wasn't Boar's Head - nothing against that brand but that is what EVERY OTHER place serves...coming from Chicago and having spent a lot of time in NYC as well as Boston, Philly, etc. I said I'm finally having something that I can sink my teeth into, as well as something that doesn't have just one flavor but a whole burst of 'em...man, what a revelation. Everything was fresh, lots of color, generous amounts of Italian ham, hot capicola, & salami but what made it was the Pickled Red Onion, House Vinaigrette, & the Sesame Roll....you just don't see those very often down here in the south, and for good reason - they're hard to get. The fact that Eastcut makes the effort means they know what the GOOD STUFF is....and that's where I want to eat.

Jen also suggested The Jet cutlet, which I said I could not wait to try as well as everything else on the menu.

GREAT food, great place, spotless, contemporary space, very cool people.....like I told, 'em, they're probably gonna be seeing a lot of me. After all, it's a pretty large...

The issue is the inconsistencies with your orders. Some times the chicken is flavorful and amazingly seasoned, other times it is bland and tasteless. The sandwiches are also inconsistent with what you will get/have on them. I ordered a east katsu on two separate occasions and both times they was missing everything but the lettuce and a few drizzling of sauces. It was supposed to include kimchi, pickled onions, tomatoes, lettuce, chipotle sauce and Katsu sauce. If you're not sitting and eating at the time of your order then I highly recommend checking your sandwich before you leave. The only saving grace was the chicken katsu sandwich, when they made it right. Unfortunately they have discontinued it in favor of some pimento cheese chicken cutlet sub. It isn't horrible but it is in no way shape or form as amazing or note worthy as the east kastu when made correctly. I highly doubt I'll be making the 40 minute drive again until they bring back the east katsu sandwich. The other sandwiches are all typical offerings you can find at any other local chicken restaurant. Also big shout out to the female kitchen manager who was amazing and refunded the money for the error in the kitchen the two times staff dropped the ball. ADDITIONALLY BRING BACK THE EAST...

My husband got extremely upsetting news so I offered to take him here for lunch after having such a great experience at the Durham location. The online ordering would not let us add anything to our cart, even drinks. I went up to order and the girl extremely rudely told me they only had 1 piece of chicken left so we couldn’t both order chicken sandwiches- which is half their menu. It would’ve been fine if someone had bothered to tell us when we came in or during the time we tried to figure out ordering on our phones and if she hadn’t been the rudest customer service person I’ve ever met. I asked for a manager and explained everything to the lead. She got the gm and I had to explain everything for a third time. She was extremely condescending and wanted to argue with every single thing I said. I told my husband “lets go” and the gm started coming out from the behind The counter and following us out. I had already told her we weren’t eating there and I just wanted them to tell people that their menu is not available. All 4 people I spoke to there were confused about why we were upset. We drove all the way from Clayton and this was the last thing my husband needed today. We’ll drive the extra 20 minutes to...

The chicken cutlet is the: Torta Milanesa - it's pretty good but I think the cheese steak is definitely more flavorful, so I preferred that over it. I was going to add some ground mustard sauce in the Torta Milanesa (like a tiny bit to kick up the flavor but not overpower it) but I forgot because it was messy to eat, and I demolished it. It’s more refreshing and lighter, I guess. Cheesesteak had carnitas as the meat and lots of sauce, so it was pretty good. It was filling but wasn't overly heavy feeling probably cause the other flavors it had in it. Definitely was savory. These sandwiches are shareable b/c how big they are. I don’t usually like sweet potato tots but this one was seasoned with some salt so it was balanced, and I actually liked it (I hate when they don't season the sweet potato fries or tots because you can't exactly put salt on it yourself because it’ll just bounce off and not stick as well once it cools) The mozzarella stick was $9 so not sure if I would get it again, but I just wanted some. It was definitely house-made and cheese pulled well and was also fully filled with cheese unlike those frozen ones you get that are 1/3 insides filled. With inflation it might be a good price.

OK, ladies and gentlemen, this one is a good one. Let me tell you this is gonna be one of your favorite spots. The sandwiches are amazing. The tater tots were delicious scrumptious the environment was very lively super family friendly. The decor was amazing. Gave off a lot of beach vibes according to my wife. They had real good merch me and my wife got the cheesesteaks. I replace my American cheese with mozzarella cheese. That thing was banging. The mozzarella sticks taste like something you never had before. They have a totally different breading. They put a Parmesan cheese on top and they make the mozzarella cheese, so it’s fresh and you can tell the difference between the mozzarella sticks that you get there any common restaurant or franchise restaurant I’m not a beer person but I think they had beers there and they have free water so if you person has issues with kidney stones and stuff like that you don’t have to worry about the water Overall this place is amazing. I’ve only been there once so that’s the only reason that I have a four star rating once I explore the menu I reevaluate your time at Eastcut

We decided to try this place after seeing it hyped on Instagram. We ordered two sandwiches and 2 drinks for $40. We tipped in advance and took our order to sit outside and eat. The chicken sandwich I had was good however just needed a bit more sauce. I asked the server if I could have and she said it was .99 cents each. I found that odd considering how we tipped in advance and that she didn’t even give me an option of any “free” sauces that were available, which what I wanted was mayo to begin with. When I went to use the bathroom, I was they had a little stand of sauces next to the bathroom and it upset me that she didn’t even let me know those were available. Considering the prices of the sandwiches, no sauce, whether special or basic should have a charge. We left on a sour note, meh.
