I have loved Hero’s since the first time I set foot in this public establishment. However today, this changed for one reason. It’s my understanding this is a PUBLIC RESTAURANT meaning not a PRIVATE bar. N.C. is in Phase 2 of reopening due to the COVID pandemic meaning NO PRIVATE bars should be open/operating(bars, not places that serve food and alcohol). I was there recently playing pinball drinking a coke(nonalcoholic) with one other person. I was there about an hour and had spoken to numerous staff in passing(no social distancing or masks were being enforced) but that didn’t seem like a problem. I was approached by someone calling themselves the owner. I am pro 2A and according to N.C. law, individuals that have a CCW permit lawfully obtained by the county of their residence are allowed to conceal a weapon for self defense in ANY public establishment that doesn’t have signs or notices explicitly prohibiting firearms. The owner claimed HEROS is a private establishment and they did not want firearms in their establishment. According to N.C. law, a private establishment requires a sign in sheet and/or require a membership fee. Hero’s IS NOT a private establishment and if they are 1. They are not permitted to be open during phase 2 and 2. they would require their MEMBERS to sign in. I was asked to leave due to the owner infringing on my constitutional rights under the 2nd Amendment of the US Constitution. I’ve reached out to the health department and three other agencies due to this event. If you’re a supporter of any of your rights, I would strongly reconsider this PUBLIC establishment because if they’ll impose on a constitutional amendment, they will absolutely do whatever they want in a given situation. Hopefully no one else experiences any kind of bias at this establishment.

I always enjoy the vibe here. I started going to have a more chill place during the pandemic but the last time was packed!! Its 3 areas, two bars. Game room, wings are good. A couple booths where the serve food and patio area (only photos i had of it)

I have always come to Heros often . I enjoy the atmosphere and the regulars are a lot of people I’ve know for years . I have been very disappointed lately though . The last 4-5 times I have come , I have not been drinking, but have gone in the establishment to buy my friends drinks since I was the DD . I went to the bar on the left and the Jameson aNd Ginger was $7 then I later went back in ( but to the right side bar ) and ordered another , well the drink cost $11 😳😳😳 I asked the bartender why my drink was so expensive and she then told me ā€œ hold on , it’s $10 !ā€ . I was like no, it shouldn’t be that much . She responded back and then told me it was $7 . I gave her $10 and she gave me $2 back šŸ˜³šŸ™„šŸ˜... umm šŸ¤” I should have been given $3 . The bartender was rude and acting annoyed with me . Most likely bc I asked her to refill the water I had multiple times ( she always rolled her eyes and makes me wait till she serves everyone else , like my money isn’t green too ) and yes I tip $1 for every water and plus 20% on all the alcohol so I’m not a bad tipper or an asshat by any means . Any way, I have brought this to Wayne’s attention multiple times and asked why the female bartender continues to over charge for drinks . It’s not right and I can only imagine how much money she has charged people who have been enjoying their night and didn’t notice bc they were a lil tipsy . Myself , I don’t usually drink but I feel bc she saw me ordering drinks , she thought she could take advantage. I have spoke with the regulars and most have said the same thing , that it has happened to them as well . That’s just not right . Period . Both sides of the bar ( I’m sure) have the same prices on their drinks in the computer . Im really disappointed that even after bringing this to the managers attention he really did nothing about it ,nor did he follow up with me to get more details . I think his response was when I showed him ,not once but twice my receipts being different for the same drinks , he responded with ā€œ yes, I’m checking the computers now to make sure the prices are the same in both .ā€ No apology , no ā€œ that’s not right , let me see what I can do ā€œ , no talking to the bartender in question , nope , nothing . A real shame . In my opinion, the are letting a bartender steal from people and even with proof , they don’t seem to care . Well thank God I drink water bc I might not have caught on to this scam . The bartender needs to be fired . She is rude as well and I’m sure she is skimming ... when I told the manager , she was watching me like a hawk . Sry not sry . Right is right and wrong is wrong ...the final straw was last night when someone ordering tequila shots had the bartender put them on my tab ??!! When I asked the bartender why he put them on my tab when I didn’t order any he said bc the person said so , um no😐 ... so I guess I can just go in and order drinks and put it on other peoples tabs and they should have to pay for it?!?! Like what is going on at this place ?!?!?! ....

Updated 3/21/25 .. this place is such a joke. Came in to see a band with a larger group of my close friends. Most regulars I knew have stopped coming here and I know why . The security guards literally protect the drug dealers that are regulars at the bar, it’s like they are there to kick out people who are only there for the bar , if your not getting party favors from their buddy they try to kick you out 😳😳bartenders took my card. I explained to all three different bartenders. I didn’t want them charging my card because they have charged me twice before and I would pay in cash and close out my tab. And that’s exactly what I did and I gave them a $20 tip on an $87 tap well they decided they were gonna charge me again on my card. So now I’ve spent $194 on three drinks. I know what they’re doing . Every time I come in this place this happens, So I know it’s literally them Committing fraud. I brought it to their attention years ago and they don’t care So they’ll have to deal with the consequences . It’s appalling… get...

So disappointed.... this place doesn’t even deserve 1 star.

Went there for drinks with a friend and they couldn’t even make the most simple drinks because they ā€œdidn’t have the mixā€. Ordered a vodka and orange juice and it was absolutely disgusting, no liquor and the orange juice was spoiled. Ordered a Long Island iced tea which was equally bad If not worse.

The service was absolutely terrible. The bartender never came to us, we had to flag her down and when she finally came over to us she was super rude and irritable. There were literally 6-8 people in the entire bar so I don’t know how this place even stays open....I would understand her attitude if they were busy but they were far from it.

In addition to the terrible drinks, I paid $10 for a sandwich to go (because we did not want to stay there any longer due to the service and atmosphere) and my sandwich was cold and absolutely disgusting.

Very disappointed with the quality of food, drinks and service. Definitely will not be going back, especially when there are so many better spots...
