Stay away!!!! The price may be decent but after working with Bearta and Soha at TLAC, paying more somewhere else would have been more than worth it! Communication and organization were completely void in all dealings, trying to twist words previously spoken and deny agreements that were made. I recently had a fairly small wedding there, paying thousands of dollars for use of the facility, "theme decor", "set up", "clean up" and catering. The caterer almost couldn't cater because no one from TLAC had contacted them to let them know there would be a wedding on my day!!! Things that were agreed on (with time-stamped documentation) three months prior did not fit their schedule closer to the date so they screamed and yelled at me until I agreed to change times 5 DAYS before the wedding!!!!! Also, they would not let me set up the days we had agreed on twice before, again yelling at me until I finally changed MY plans to fit their schedule and they kicked me out of the facility early because I deigned to stand up for myself. I worked extremely hard to make their sub-par room for the ceremony look as good as possible because it rained on my day. They took everything down, saying that they allowed us to set up just so we could see what it would look like!!!! I spent four months on my backdrop and they tell me this 3 DAYS before the ceremony, after we (not them) had spent hours setting it up. It was not even final for the rehearsal. The plates and utensils were plastic and something I would expect at a picnic so we brought in our own plates and silverware. They refused to help clear them, which is part of clean up and something I paid for. The bar tender was rarely at the bar serving, even though my generous guests had tipped her for serving alcohol I purchased. They had no one cut and serve the cake, even though I had an "All Inclusive" package, causing my guests in dresses and suits to have to serve the cake. Many of my guests also helped to clean up because of the understaffed and disorganized running of the event. I will say it turned out beautifully due to my planning, hard work, and a phenomenal support system. However, the stress and constant fighting that happened with TLAC staff is not worth the smallest of costs. I urge you to look at other venue! Also, one of the people I dealt with at TLAC was involved in a lawsuit recently for dishonest conduct at her last wedding venue. Again, I strongly urge you to find a venue with honest people that are transparent, provide everything in writing and want your...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI have been asking for my security deposit back for months and I have yet to receive itā¦. She told me to meet her a 6pm the very same day that I reached out which was impossible that would have only given me a no time to get there and see he knew that⦠and she said she needed to check her scheduleā¦. Iāve emailed multiple times and no response now I know why they ask for the security deposit in cash⦠BEWARE!!
Update: shortly after posting this review I received a call from SOHA claiming that she didnāt know that I hadnāt received my deposit because someone else was supposed to mail it to me⦠my event was on 10/1/22 and Today is 1/19/2023 and I just received my checkā¦. And itās sad that I had to wait that long and post a bad review to get something that was owed to meā¦. Whatās even more upsetting is instead of her admitting that she was wrong she lies and only sends me part of a text message that was exchanged between us on 10/17ā¦. I texted her at 9:36am and asked her when could we meet for my deposit āā she said today at 6:30pm( I donāt live or work in Raleigh) ā I immediately asked for another time because I knew that was impossible⦠her response was I need to check my schedule & get back with you(she never did)ā¦. I sent her an email on 10/13, 10/25ā¦.(she responded with what was the date of the event the following day and I never heard back), I emailed her again on 10/26, 11/4 and 12/5 with no responseā¦.. Again if she wouldāve just called or even responded to any of my emails to say my mistake or to have any kind of communication, I would have believed the āyour check was mailedā storyā¦. Even after all of that if she wouldāve called me after the review, apologized and sent my check I may have removed the review as she requested⦠but Iām leaving it because she need to treat her clients betterā¦ā¦stop blaming them and making up excusesā overall for the price and the short term a/c issues( they were fixed shortly after texting her) I was pleased with my...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI had my son's wedding at this venue. This was the only hall we looked at and liked it because it s would accommodate the number of guests we were inviting, we could bring our own caterer and pretty much had a clean slate to work with. The price was reasonable but there were a few extras that we were not aware of i.e. charge for ice maker, cushions for chairs and we were also notified at second meeting that we had to bring $275.00 in cash for incidentals??
Beartra and Soho were good to work with and even stepped up as our bartenders the day of wedding when the hired bartender came down with shingles. They allowed us to set up the hall on a Thursday evening, (wedding was on Saturday) and gave us two free hours of set up time. That was a big help as it gave me Friday to buy anything else we needed for the wedding. We also were allowed to arrive two hours prior to the wedding 4pm for 6pm wedding to do the little extras. Beartra and Soho were very accommodating and wanted to help us in any way to make my son's wedding a special event.
Everyone who attended was in awe of how we transformed the hall into a beautiful wedding venue. We supplied everything, dishes, silverware, cups, tablecloths, own centerpieces etc.
Beartra recommended a D.J. who was superb!
If you are on a budget, and like the idea of having a blank slate and creating your own vision, this is the place. As with any contract or lease agreement, get everything in writing and ask about "extras". Thank you...
