The Bison Bar — Restaurant in Raleigh

I really try to only leave positive google reviews but this places bartender really messed this place up for me even though I definitely liked the atmosphere at first. I went up with my friend to get a drink, the bar was not busy at all and nobody else was waiting to order and yet the bartender, I didn’t get his name but it was a white guy with tattoos, a beard, glasses and a hat, still took a solid 5 minutes to even acknowledge us when we were less than 8ft away from him because he was talking to someone. Dude clearly looked at us holding out our money too. My friend and I both said the standard “hey how’s it going?” and instead of actually greeting us guy starts out with “Well first I’ll take that,” and grabs my red bull from my hand to throw it out even though there’s no sign about outside food or drinks not being allowed. “Can’t have outside food or drinks.” After that I just said I’m not getting anything and walked outside. The guy should’ve at least had the decency to say “gotta ask you to throw that away we don’t allow outside food or drinks in here.” Instead of just grabbing it straight from my hand while saying “no outside food or drinks” my friend and I were very nice and patient too, we weren’t being typical loud jerks waving our cards around making annoyed faces and sighing or anything rude at all while waiting for the guy to finish his 5 minute conversation. This guy definitely lost two solid customers who would have without a doubt came back if it weren’t for the terrible bartender. I definitely know I’m not in the wrong here either because I’ve worked customer service from pretty much every single position there is including bar tending and I gotta say this dude absolutely sucked at doing his job or making people feel welcomed or anything like that. This terrible bartender was the guy working on Tuesday, October 8th around 8:30pm. This dude 100% needs a lesson in basic customer service and hospitality, he sucks at his job and should probably consider doing something that doesn’t involve not being a total snide/rude brat to people and consider being a janitor or something else where you’re not supposed to make people feel welcome. I was a little uncomfortable when i pulled into parking lot of this bar and saw the crowd standing outside of business .But when i was walking through crowd with my companion expecting a confrontation but the guys not only said hello but actually made a pathway for us to pass through. We went inside bar and everyone was friendly .They have great drink specials and different genre of music playing. Like with any bar you get those that may have 1 to many and get crazy but for most part everyone is mostly harmless. Its a good place to go and get a drink...

Many people affectionately call this the place where dreams go to die. It's always the last stop after a night of debauchery. There is always a wide range of characters at this place, which makes it all the more enjoyable. The bartenders are really cool, the decor is really random and the music is really fun. They have tons of board games/table games to play. Depending on what time it is ladies may not want to use the bathroom. And don't forget to order a bison bomb: the only proper way to describe this is to tell you to youtube it....
