Went on a Sunday afternoon around 2PM a few weeks ago to meet 2 friends, we have been wanting to try this place since it was announced they were coming to Omaha.
Excellent: Cocktails. Before I left I had a Moscow Mule and they actually have fresh squeezed lime juice. I can't stress this enough, things like this make or break a good cocktail. I know small bars can't always do things like this, but larger bars and restaurants take note, fresh ingredients are so much better.
The good: Beer selection, if you can't find one you are interested in then you have bigger issues. The food! I had the pork tenderloin sandwich, it was juicy, and an actual piece of pork, not a beat to help cutlet. Sauce was good and with the red cabbage it had an almost Asian twist to it. Fries were hot and crispy. Friends had a burger and chicken sandwich both said they were good as well.
The bad: The Service. I walked in and you could tell there was a wait, but trying to find someone to ask or put my name on a list was impossible. I saw 3 open seats at the bar and grabbed them hoping it was seat your self, but with no one to ask who knows? Didn't get asked to move, so I think I was good. Next, sat at the bar for 15 minutes before getting helped. Scammed the menu and ordered a beer which I was told they were out of so I tried again and again, 3rd time was the charm. I get that they have smaller sized kegs and that plain paper beer menus aren't all that attractive but: 1) Have paper drink menus so you change and update them on the fly, 2) Get your beer list on the Untapped App so that you can have an up to date list. The bar tender knew there were newer beers in tap that were not on the menu but had no clue about the taste and ingredients. For a place called 30 Tap that just isn't acceptable. Last, there were 3 of us and I know we were all on separate tabs, but our food came out 20 minutes apart. Fist mine, then 20 minutes later my friends, we all ordered at the same time.
I'll be back for both food and drink and hopefully I can give more stars for service. But if it's super busy, don't hold...
Read moreI recently had the pleasure of dining at the newly opened 30 Hop on Memorial Day, and I must say, it was a delightful experience! My husband and I decided to stop in for a quick bite, and it turned out to be one of the best decisions we’ve made.
First up, the truffle fries were nothing short of extraordinary. I can confidently say they are the best fries I’ve ever tasted! The truffle flavor was rich and aromatic, and the fries were cooked to absolute perfection—crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside. To top it off, they had this delicious cheesy topping and a white dip that complemented the truffle oil beautifully. If you visit, you absolutely must try these!
We also ordered the boneless Korean barbecue wings. While the wings themselves were cooked perfectly, I unfortunately can’t recommend the Korean barbecue sauce. It had an off-putting aftertaste that was reminiscent of something less than appetizing. However, the wings were so good that I’d still order them again, just with a different sauce!
The drinks were decent; the virgin options were refreshing, although the soda could use a bit more carbonation. The atmosphere is vibrant, with plenty of TVs, making it a great spot to catch a game.
30 Hop offers a diverse menu that caters to all cravings, from burgers to tacos, making it a perfect place for groups with varied tastes. While it may not be a destination restaurant for me, I will definitely return and recommend it to anyone in the area looking for a casual dining experience with a variety of options. Overall, a great addition to Omaha’s...
Read more1st time visit. Was with husband and brother. Server addressed us immediately. Came back with beverages. We then received an important call and she interrupted wanting take order. Need to more aware of what patrons are doing. Ordered finally. Brother’s beer was good. I ordered grilled chicken avocado sandwich. Husband ordered bowl of potato soup. Soup was ok, but bowl was only half full in the large black bowl. Portion size poor. No garnishes or crackers/bread came with it. So nothing special and soups are one of the lowest costs items on restaurants’menu. My sandwich was flavorable but difficult to eat because all the ingredients made the bun soggy and difficult to pick up. Actually it fell apart. Fries were ok but I’ve had better. Wasn’t offered any ketchup salt/pepper and none on table. Sandwich/fries hot, soup was hot but not steaming. Plates/bowls should be on/in warmer. Foods can cool quickly when plates etc not warm. We all rated our visit B, B-, C+. Might try again since place just opened. Better server training should be in order. Better customer service rather than wanting to turn tables over. There are a lot of similar competitors in Omaha with bar/grill vibe. We visited mid...
