This was, by far, the absolute WORST dining experience we have ever had, and we've had some bad ones! To start, the location of this place was very odd. It seemed to be in a business building, attached to a rental hall. Our reservation was at 6pm. We wandered through the nearly empty restaurant (already a bad sign on a Saturday night) as the parking lot is at the back of the building. We weren't greeted by anyone on this trek. We made our way to the hostess stand in the corner, and had to stand off to the side so someone, ANYONE would see us. We were eventually seated, brought water, and told our waitress would be there soon. Just looking around, everyone seemed confused. We saw on two occasions that the customers flagged down staff members carrying trays of food who looked like they had NO IDEA where they were going. We started to feel a little anxious, but thought our experience may be different. Boy were we WRONG! Our waitress came and asked us what we were celebrating, it was my belated birthday dinner. After extensively explaining the one page menu, she took our drink orders and said she'd be back...15 minutes later she returned, then proceeded to push our straws into our drinks with her fingers! 𤮠Serve 101, NEVER touch a customer's straw with your dirty fingers!!!! Ugh. So. We proceeded to order appetizers, and our meal. And then she was gone. Along with all of our hopes. Our appetizers arrived at 655, after we had to flag down a food runner who almost delivered our food to the wrong table! Mind you, our reservation was at 6pm! How long does it take to warm the bread and make some meatballs!? We had no hope left. Still hadn't seen our waitress, but witnessed her delivering food to the wrong table, and loudly explaining in great detail the one page menu to newcomers. Still our drinks remained empty. At 738pm, our dinner arrived. And it was awful. Burnt overdone steaks, hard potatoes, and ZERO flavor! We couldn't even take it anymore. No one came to check on how our food was, and that was it for us. We were going to order cake to celebrate, but couldn't wait another hour in that horrible place! I got up, found where the waitresses were (all looking like deer caught in headlights and running around nowhere delivering the wrong food to the wrong tables!), and promptly asked for our bill while handing her our credit card. She came to our table and apologized, "we've never been this busy!" Really??? On a Saturday night, you weren't expecting a dinner rush??? Unbelievable! We paid the bill and left, never to return! This will be a story told for years to come of the worst dining experience EVER! I don't know who is giving this place more than one star, unless they're being paid. Maybe they are better at lunch? Who knows. All I know is, we will be telling everyone we know that this place is NOT a place to go. Ever. SURely never visiting again! Wish we had our money back and a do over at one of our favorite fine dining establishments that knows how to do...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreMy boyfriend and I decided to try out SUR tonight and were VERY impressed! We went all out and everything start to finish was divine! The cocktails were crafted with fresh ingredients (you can tell the difference trust me) our app was made with homemade kettle chips - their take on nachos- I LOVED these. The meat on them and our steaks were so tender and cooked exactly how we asked - medium! I canāt pick a favorite thing truly, but the truffle mac was absolutely delicious š¤š» last, but not least that chocolate cake OH MY. The chocolate is a dark chocolate, not overly sweet because itās fresh cacao and it was made with all the love š
HIGHLIGHTS for me - Stephanie our waitress was absolutely amazing. She was so informative, friendly and all her suggestions when I asked, were fantastic!
They keep the food/ingredients fresh!! Never frozen meat, noodles imported from Europe which makes them gluten sensitive, and everything is made from scratch!
Price point - exactly what you would expect for the atmosphere, elevated dining experience and really good food! My take is that it was actually a good price for everything we got and the quality. The 10oz strip, with potatoes and a salad was $29. We have spent just as much grabbing something mid. Although I would suggest going all out if you have a special occasion or just want to treat yourself!
Needless to say, we will be back and we canāt wait to be back for the wine tasting in October!! Extra points for being such a vibe in there - as my boyfriend said it didnāt feel like we were in Ramsey! Usually, you would have to go into the cities for good dining like this!
I would also like to say for people saying the service is slow, this is a higher end dining experience and quality food fresh made takes time.. We were there just under two hours, but that was for all of these courses and thatās what I...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI was here with a party of 3 on Grand Opening night. I want to acknowledge that opening night is tough, and mistakes totally happen. However, they could have done better, despite that. It was a little difficult to figure out where the main door was. The atmosphere was nice - Warm and inviting. Music was a good choice and good volume. We started with cocktails. They were well mixed and well balanced. The price was reasonable. We then ordered the bread and butter, and the escargot. The bread and butter were good. Bread was soft, with a nice outside chew. The escargot was in a fabulous herb and garlic butter. However, half the escargot were room temperature and half were cold. None were warm-hot. Also, I had to ask for plates, tongs and mini forks. They brought plates, SPOONS, and mini forks. They apparently had no tongs?? The spoon was useless. I had to hold the shell in my fingers. The fries and steaks came out next. Each was cooked correctly and each was tender. My dish lagged behind the other dishes. I ordered the pork belly, and when it did arrive it was warm and had a nice crisp fat edge. At the end, we got our check, and we were finishing up dining and chatting. And in short order we were the last table there. But keep in mind, not because we were being slow, but because they were slow. And then, they turned off the music while we were still wrapping up, that was a tad annoying at first, but what really irritated me immensely was that I could hear someone giving a stern dressing down (corrections and do better speach) to the staff on the struggles of the night - and I had to hear it! And I could hear it, because the music was off. Total vibe kill. I will go back in a few months to see...
