I honestly cannot comment on the quality of the food because I couldn't get past the attitude of who I assume is the owner. My son has a newly discovered gluten sensitivity, so everything is new & different. His birthday is coming up and I want to make sure that he has a special birthday dessert, everything I've tried to bake without gluten hasn't come out so well. LoL Spending a little time on Google, I find the Caring Kitchen, looks like a nice small business, I would love to support it. So I give them a call on Monday afternoon, a little after 1pm. A woman answers and I briefly tell her my challenge. My bad, they're not open and she clearly wanted to make sure that I knew that it was not okay that I was calling. I just can't get over her attitude. She quickly informed me that they weren't even open, snidely informing me "our hours are on the website". So at this point, I don't know what that means because I don't need a dessert until this weekend - is she telling me that she couldn't provide anything until this weekend or she telling me that she's not willing to talk to me until this weekend? I have no idea. So I ask. Well that's when she informs me that they don't know what is going to be on the menu until minutes before they open, (uh, ya - because I'm sure they do all that baking minutes before they open. You can choose to not release your menu until you open, but you can't say you have no idea what you're going to release because that's just a lie.) Oh, and they do not take special orders. Bottom line, I guess this is a bakery for special dietary needs, but they're not easy to do business with, I really don't seem to be interested in growing any new business and the owner is either not a people person or was having a bad day. Either way, this was a huge swing and miss for...

Everything I've had here has been amazing. Every weekend I make my boyfriend swing by the bakery with a list of things I want and every single week I'm amazed with how delicious everything is. Thankfully he doesn't mind doing this for me, and even though he is a connoisseur of gluten, he has also been a big fan of a lot of the goodies from here as well. I often notice some extra treats that weren't on my list make it into the box that he ended up buying for himself LOL.
These are honestly probably the best gluten free treats I've tried, and believe me, in the last 10+ years being gluten free I've tried so many and the others just don't compare. The portions are great, and prices are super reasonable for the size. Go check them out! You won't be...
Read moreThe Caring Kitchen is the BEST. The treats are all SO delicious; you can't go wrong with anything you pick here. I've tried an array of things and every single one/flavor has been super amazing. And what's more is that they are all gluten and dairy free (and most allergens free actually) makes it even more great esp when you have dietary restrictions or just want to avoid toxic contaminants in our food supply today. As most have prob experienced it's hard to get the same texture and flavor with things that are gluten and dairy free but The Caring Kitchen does it to perfection - no exaggeration. My husband who's a tough critic not only can't tell it's gluten or dairy free but he actually will devour it (and that's saying something lol!)
I also appreciate how much effort the owner puts into sourcing and preparation in order to make it safe for everyone who has to avoid the allergens.
It's been one of the best places in Sacramento and I can say the Caring Kitchen is the only place of its kind.
I do also love how she's always testing new flavors and baked goods frequently, just the cherry on top!
Thanks for everything...
