I grew up in an area where panaderias could be found every few blocks. Moving to RC, I’ve driven to Fontana or Ontario to get my Pan Dulce fix. I was excited when my coworkers said they had the best place and the second location just opened. I stopped by today and was disappointed. The selection was mediocre and didn’t look appetizing. I settled for a staple thinking how bad can it be?The concha did not taste like a concha. All I tasted was the sugar on top. And not the typical concha flakiness on top, but instead hard pieces of sugar.Needless to say that didn’t get finished . Next, I had picked up a pineapple cake variation. The pineapple tasted old and so that got thrown out. While in there I had asked for chapurrado and the girl looked confused then said they have it, but it’s cold……soooo can they warm it up? She didn’t even offer to warm it up. She just continued to stare at me confused looking.Like, whaat? I bought my pan and left. I won’t be coming back. I ordered 12 mini concha hearts for a Mother’s Day celebration at work—4 pink, 4 hot pink, and 4 half pink/half purple. I also paid extra to have each concha individually packaged for easy distribution. However, when I arrived, none of the items were packaged as requested. I had to go back inside to inform the staff, which delayed the pickup.

Once the packaging issue was addressed, I noticed that the conchas meant to be half pink/half purple were just pink. When I asked about it, a staff member confirmed they were supposed to be purple and said the colors change during baking. However, the conchas on their display screen clearly showed a vibrant purple that did not match what I received. I was told there was nothing they could do besides offer an apology.
