Papa Johns Pizza — Restaurant in Rapid City

Ordered some food. Noticed it was taking quite some time to be delivered, wasn't worried about that. People are short staffed right now. I noticed on the tracker the driver was parked at a location not even on the way to my house from their restaurant for about 10 minutes. I called to see if everything was okay. The manager was relaying messages to me through an employee. It turns out that the driver took a coworker home and apparently decided to take a break with the coworker before bringing our food. I asked to speak to the manager instead of being relayed messages. The manager then told me she would only give me a free item on my next order if my food was cold (I wasn't even looking for free stuff or food) I let her know this was poor customer etiquette and extremely disappointing and I wouldn't be ordering from their location again. She told me bye and hung up. Sorry for the novel but be prepared to wait an hour and a half for a small order of food. I try to be sympathetic to staffing shortage in food industry, I've worked it. This is the first time I've given a tip below 15$ to my delivery driver and I hope its my last time receiving...

I did a web-order carry-out. The on-line link kept showing pizza not ready. Finally, after 25 minutes, I drove to the store and went inside. The pizza had obviously been ready for at least 15 minutes - it was very cold. So they don't update the progression-times in their app. In addition to the pizza being cold it was soggy as heck on one side. It was as if they had spilled a cup of water on it. The bottom of the box was soaked. I ordered a pepperoni with extra toppings. There were about 5 or 6 black olives and mushrooms in a little pile on the non-soggy side. There were a couple of pieces of sausage and a couple of strips of onion and green pepper. $22 for this? Had I been at the store I would have sent it back. As it was I ate one slice and tossed the rest in the trash. They'll never have me as a customer again.

04/25/2019 update: Mike the manager called and we discussed my issue and review. Mike very graciously apologized and offered a free pizza to replace the one I had to toss. Thumbs up to Mike and I very much...

Just wow -- I have ordered from these guys a few times and, especially ever since they got their new manager, the pizza has been fantastic. Tonight's service was quite phenomenal; the pizza was still hot to the touch when it arrived, the toppings were just barely hanging-onto the crust (they were so gooey and just right), and the driver was quick and kind. The delivery time was much shorter than anticipated. Mike was kind enough to let me know over the phone that the shorter time was a possibility tonight. He answered my questions without hesitation and was very cordial in doing so; he also asked if I needed anything else, specifically "a drink, wings, or a cookie". I don't think I've ever been offered a cookie nor wings by Papa John's before; I had no idea Papa John's even HAD cookies, so, that will be a consideration for next time! All-in-all, well done, will be ordering from this location...
