If you're smarter than the sales person hold your ground!!! I was in here to buy a TV for my RV, that went ok sort of, it was a 43" 4K Samsung that was playing a feed they send to all the TVs not a good quality to show it's true picture, I asked if they could get a OTA signal because it's much better than what Best Buy was feeding it!! He reached behind the TV and pulled out a remote as he did a Live Broadcast came on "he unknowingly switched inputs for a second then it went away", he said no it's not set up to get OTA?? Well I just saw a Live picture from a local station! He kept saying no it can't? Like I had hallucinated it??? Ok buddy let me see the remote so I can get back what you don't know how to do! Yes I was able to get live broadcasts!! The second issue I had was when I needed a wallmount " Now this is for a RV a moving vehicle not a house that just sits there!!" I needed a flat mount that doesn't swivel. for the bedroom in my RV a swivel mount was not needed! I found one that would work he immediately jumps in that it's not right I needed the bigger one that cost 3x as much!!! I reminded him this is for an RV something he probably had no experience with maybe never been in one!! That move down the road hits bumps, makes sudden stops, goes around corners. Well I let this guy talk me into what he said would work!! "I'm Not Doing That Again!!" The wall mount he said to buy lets the TV slide 6" off center for adjustment now I have to find a way to add stops so my New TV can't slide forward when I hit the brakes and possibly break free going through a Glass Door!!! I can modify it but if I had purchased the one I originally wanted this would not be an issue! If you're shopping for something in an RV or anywhere most of these employees have never had any experience with, do your research and hold your ground! ! They won't refund you if their bad advice breaks something , it would be nice if they had to pay for their ignorance, they might think before opening...
Read moreI'm shocked this store is still open. I've been there when there is a 1:1 staff to customer and the staff basically ignores the customers. I walked in to buy a new cell phone. No activation....unlocked phone. They told me it would be a couple minutes. 30 minutes later someone finally helped me. I normally wouldn't have waited that long but it was borderline amusing to watch 3 staff members in the phone area watch customers come and leave as they are ignored. I actually helped an old couple search for a phone and researched it online at Target for them and they left to go shop for it there.
Then when the phone came in, I went to the phone counter to pick it up like they told me to, just to have the young man look at me like was I was confused and then sent me to the front checkout counter. So I head up there and stand in a line with a bunch of other customers who are equally as upset and confused as myself since they are using the 2 registers to process everything from checkouts, to returns, to pick ups, to customer service. And this is just one particular purchase I made. There have been other times where I was shopping for a tablet and some speakers with the same level of customer service. It feels like you're walking around a warehouse with warehouse attendants who only stock and scan inventory, not a retail store with products and customer service...
Read moreI received a car remote starter kit from Best Buy for Christmas. The cost of the kit was to include installation. When I called after the holidays to have my car remote starter installed, they explained they would have to take my name and a phone number and get back to me. They currently did not have anyone to do the install. I waited for about a month, never received a follow-up call. I then called them back to speak to a manager. He explained they had no one hired to do the install and even after they hire someone it would be at least a few months before he was trained. It is already the first week of February and it is very cold outside! He suggested waiting, going to the next nearest Best Buy which is 400+ miles away, OR I could pay to have someone else do the install and he would reimburse me up to a certain amount. I was not a satisfied customer at this point. I chose to have it installed elsewhere and paid for it out of my own pocket. I then went back to Best buy, which is over 50 miles from my home, and spoke with the manager on duty. He did agree to reimburse me for the entire cost of the install done by another company.
