Food is great. Service (Mostly) is Excellent.
The problem is that going in on a Sunday morning the last three times I've gone they have had either music or a game of some sort blasting over the PA. The last two times we've asked to move to a table farther away from the overhead speakers but it is too loud to hear people you are with. We've additionally asked for the volume to be turned the last two times our family has gone there which they initially do. But last time we went they gradually turned it back up. I understand that 'before they open' they may want to 'jam' but once customers come in they should turn these down to a comfortable level, particularly when people are complaining. I'm not just some old fuddy duddy, I'm a musician who has played in various rock bands for years. I like music loud, when it is appropriate. But not when I'm trying to have quality food and conversation with the family.
I like the food, it is quick and good. The overall service of the wait and hostess staff is quite good, though they cannot seem to control the volume when asked. The waiter we have had each time at the restaurant has been exceptional at getting our orders quickly and in a friendly manner. He even keeps a close eye on us for refills and plate management. If they could manage the volume, I would return 2-3 times a month. But since the last three times we have gone there we cannot carry on a conversation, I will not be returning. It is a shame, they had such...
Read moreDo not listen to the 5 star reviews at all. Don't even listen to the 4 or 3 stars. Question why someone left a 2 star. Because THIS IS A ONE STAR RESTAURANT.
We ordered some take out for Cinco de Mayo tonight and it was some of the worst, unseasoned, cold, horrid Mexican food I've ever had in my entire life.
Why are your "beans" pureed? Why are your chips stale? You couldn't manage to fry some fresh chips and throw some salt on them? The cheese sauce is NOT cheese. It's like warmed up milk and they charge $5 for it!
The rice has no color on it, it's bland, its not even salty. Unlike the milk dip, that was salty as all get out. The chili rellenos tasted FREEZER BURNT. The dough around the relleno had no flavor, the cheese inside was a horrible texture and again, just flavorless.
The quesadilla was like only moderately okay, had hardly any cheese and it was also $5! But let's be for real: I could make a quesadilla with one arm tied behind my back off of dilaudid.
The only reason this restaurant is still in business is because of the location right off of 58 highway. And your patrons are off of 4 margaritas, so they cannot taste the lack of flavor.
Everything tasted like it was out of a can. It was utterly disgusting. There's no reason why tex mex restaurants taste better than what is supposed to be a Mexican restaurant.
Highly disappointed. And if you're considering trying this restaurant, literally go ANYWHERE else.
The only reason...
Read moreWhen our online order arrived, it was missing 2 out of the 3 items we ordered. We called the restaurant to ask about what happened, and the manager answered. He had personally packaged our online order and was the one who helped us realize the Door Dash driver stole part of our order. This was not the restaurants fault whatsoever.
What did the manager do? He offered to personally make and deliver the food himself to Peculiar. This is not a restaurant that delivers! On top of that he had mentioned being short staffed. So he used his own personal gas to drive an order in which they did not mess up because of someone else being a bad person on a night where they all likely had extra work to begin with.
Not only that, ALL OF THE FOOD was amazing. The food he brought very clearly was just made, and it was hotter than the food we had delivered.
Go here! They deserve your money! We've never set foot in the building but will be coming now. On top of that I will be telling every person I...
