Cupcake City — Restaurant in Reading

We had Cupcake City food truck at our annual summer party last Saturday, and they were an absolute delight!

We ordered 150 cupcakes, featuring six fantastic varieties, and every single flavor was a hit with our guests. My personal favorites were the bright and tangy lemon and the unique, delicious Italian cookie flavors. The price was also right, shockingly comparable to the ice cream truck that we often use for dessert.

The employee working the truck did an excellent job handing out these absolutely scrumptious cupcakes. He was not only friendly and efficient but also quite funny, adding a wonderful touch to the party. We especially appreciated that he was kind enough to box up the leftovers for our guests to take home.

It's so fun to pop into Cupcake City for a gourmet cupcake on a whim! We are lucky to have them out here in Reading, as many such places are generally located in the big cities. And, their Cupcake Truck shows up at every town event too!

My favorite part of their cupcakes are the gorgeous, creative flavors and decorations! Actually, being a designer myself, the decorations are THE big win for me. I enjoy seeing their new cupcake designs on their social media posts, especially around every holiday. They take a theme and come up with such cute, imaginative cupcakes! They also take requests and special orders.

I'm happy that they offer vegan and gluten-free for customers as well. My only wish is that there were more flavors (and designs), and that they were offered daily for those two options.

If you haven't stopped in because you live miles away, you must plan a trip to check them out sometime. It'll be worth it to see and taste their perfect cupcake...

Came in on Friday at 1 PM to buy 30 cupcakes for my daughter’s birthday the next day. Since it’s a kids party, I just wanted to do half vanilla and half chocolate, and not an assortment of flavors. I was informed that they limit an order to six of each cupcake. I asked if the other cupcakes were “reserved” for advance orders. They said no.

They just don’t want people to show up later and have them be out of certain flavors. Then I asked if the three people in line behind me could buy the cupcakes they wouldn’t sell me. They said yes, which would effectively be the same thing as me buying the cupcakes myself, as they’d no longer be available for other customers later in the day. A very confusing policy and one that seems like it would detrimental to their business.

Anyway, I left without buying the cupcakes and went to Colarusso’s down the street instead. Would recommend...
