I was looking forward to this place because of all the high reviews but I was let down big time. Absolutely a terrible experience. We were pretty excited to try some good food but we were given disappointment. We had placed our order and waited as normal but then it wasn’t normal. We waited over 45 minutes for just our drinks to show up to the table which they weren’t bad; some Jamaican juice, just needed ice. Mind you, the cook was completely by herself here which I understand is very hard to run something on your own. The cook had my girlfriend’s food ready, but sitting because mine was not done. We had to ask to even get served the sitting food and drinks and the food was close to warm, not hot and mid. The cook was nice and told us she’s new and doesn’t know where everything is and that’s why my food took so long. I understand being new and still learning. Absolute no shame in that. I got some breakfast bowl. Pretty simple ingredients. An hour goes by and my food is still not on the table THEN I over hear her talking to somebody about making my food and then proceeds to take Grammys order for tacos. I’m guessing this was a family member she was on the phone with. Super disrespectful just to have me wait and then openly talk about taking someone else’s order. Who leaves a new employee all by herself to run a joint when she’s not able to make the whole menu? Idk who’s in charge but they shouldn’t be. Get your game on training people properly! They deserve and need it! I ended up asking for a refund when I still haven’t gotten my food and heard that conversation . The girl processed it. She was very sweet and I felt bad for her but honestly, she just needs another hand. The service...
Read moreBEST Mexican food in town. After all the disappointment I almost skipped this place because of the prices, they’re very high and I have to take a star off just because the prices are way too high compared to what you get and I’m not someone who’s too picky about pricing especially when the quality is there, but the tacos are the typical tiny street tacos you’d pay $1.50 for in one of the most expensive cities in the nation, 2.50 with bougie inflation pricing. $4 for a single taco is just wild (4.79 on delivery apps)
Now to be fair the meat is cooked perfectly and high quality. I didn’t get tacos full of stringy fatty bits, and it was pretty flavorful, the spicy salsas are served on the side and are delicious. The rice and beans were basic but very good and served hot and fresh. They are serving real good Mexican food here and I’ve had consistent quality and service both times I’ve eaten here. If it was in my budget to eat here every week I absolutely would lol but give them a shot if you’ve given up on good Mexican food in this town! They’re setting the bar! They also PROPERLY have every flavor...
Read moreWe ordered from Tacos and Guac for the first time, yesterday, and will be ordering from them, again. I’ve not had such delicious authentic Mexican food in over 40 yrs. As I think about it, it rivals one of my favorite restaurants in the country: Casa Bonita in Denver, CO.
The food is not only utterly delicious, it’s plentiful. My family loves to eat but we couldn’t consume it all in one sitting, so we had leftovers for lunch, today. Delicious.
Everything was cooked to perfection and flavored beautifully. No finely chopped jalapeños! Chunks! So good. Cilantro, lime, pico mango (I think), guacamole, rice, beans… everything.
Oh, and the Horchada (hope I spelled that, correctly) was delicious. Comfort food/drink. I could drink that forever.
There’s ONE thing I wish was on the menu: Sopapillas. Yes. Sopapillas. That would make this...
